Yeah because players having covid means they should fold 👏 👏 👏

But why leave it until Friday evening to pull out on last two Fridays.

everyone understands local football and this happens. You understand what sort of team you are going to have by Wednesday and Thursday of the week.

just waste other people’s money time and effort for just to be let down Friday evening.

If you're at a loose end this Saturday, sure you can grab a last minute Halloween bargain at Trago Mills 🤪

Stupid comment. Maybe they had more players Thursday Friday that tested positive so was unable to fulfil it. Better Friday than Saturday morning aint it.

we’ve had enough clubs pulling out of leagues so got to support them while they are struggling

Clearly , the initial poster is aggrieved that his regular dose of grassroots is shelved for the week. Won't be the first nor the last. No need for petty comments like that though. Expect better from a "community" side representative.

Lostwithiel Reserves 1 - Boscastle Reserves 4

Boscastle line up. M Seldon, B Jarram, T Lyle, J Seldon, C Crook, D Hambley, J Gibson, R Nute, R Williams; M Parsons, M Jolliffe and Sub G Setiawan.

Scorers: B Jarram x2, R Nute R Williams

Boscastle started the better on a surprisingly dry pitch. Took the lead with some nice play down the right side resulting in a cross from Hambley which went all the way across to opposite wingback Jarram to smash home. Lostwithiel equalised against the run of play with a mix up with the goalkeeper Seldon trying to dribble past the forward who tucked away the chance from a tight angle. Boscastle regained the lead with another goal similar to the first. Neat play and a cross from the right side which went all the way to the back post for Jarram to touch home on the goal line. A third followed from a clearance from the Lostwithiel keeper which Nute controlled and chipped him from 35 yards! Seemed to be in the air forever! Lostwithiel came back fighting second half and definitely showed more what they are about. They were awarded a penalty for handball but this was saved by Seldon. Boscastle wrapped the points up following a corner. Williams took the corner which was cleared right back out to him. He drove the ball back in towards goal and it was fumbled in by the home keeper.
Good 3 points and all the best to lostwithiel for the rest of the season. Special thanks to the stand in ref. Tough job for him today but he did well considering.

GSM 0 Mevagissey 4

Having controller the first 15 mins, GSM fell behind on 16 mins when Dan Peters collected the ball with his back to goal, rolled the defender and put a well placed left foot shot from the edge of the area in to the bottom left hand corner, giving debutant Reehan Hussain in the GSM goal no chance. 31 mins and Dan Peters struck again. Throw in on the left was laid off and Dan hit a viciously dipping left foot shot from the corner of the area, again giving the keeper no chance. GSM had some joy down the flanks but the final ball failed to find their man, to often ending up in the arms of the Meva keeper. Jordan Rogers came closest to reducing the arrears but curled his shot wide of the post.

Second half and GSM pushed forward but again didn't really trouble the Meva keeper. 66 mins and Meva went 3 up when GSM lost the ball in midfield and a quick ball inside the fullback allowed the on rushing forward to finish left footed from just inside the area. 80 mins and a poor back pass put Dan Peters through on goal and he duly completed his hattrick.

Big thanks to John Raikes who stepped up to ref and linos from both clubs. Good luck to Meva for the rest of the season and see you again in a few weeks time for the reverse fixture. We dust ourselves off and go again next week away at Lanivet

Having to ref your own team especially when your untrained and having to step in because of a shortage is never easy you make mistakes and learn from it.

Disappointing performance from the boys today never really looked up for it from the start. Constantly changing the side due to unavailability never helps and 2 new players came in today to bring our numbers up. and not having a proper keeper for the last few weeks isn’t helping

small task of foxhole next week. We keep the faith

Gorran 1 Losty 2

Firstly a massive thank you to Gorran for providing a 2 ref's and 2 lino's as we only ha 11 players. A proper game of Duchy football with every one giving their best on a tricky surface and a strong wind. Ryan Searle with a well struck free kick gave us the lead at half time in a tight encounter. Gorran bossed the second half but it was James Hutchings the old warhorse who put us 2 up after 60 mins. Gorran kept going and pulled one back near the end but we held out for the win. Sorry i had to leave to attend a bullshit Halloween party but great to see my old mate Dave Jones and be part of a proper game of Junior football with both teams giving there all. Looking forward to the return and thanks to all involved today. Cheers Bill.
