North Petherwin Reserves 3-0 North Hill.

Visitors missing a couple but fought to keep 1st half really tight and competitive thru the match. 3 goals though with the pick being the 3rd, a nice curler to top corner gave home side the deserved 3 points and keep them up in 2nd. Well refereed in the sunshine,  hope North Hill pick a few wins up soon.

Losty 2 GSM 1

No Ref today until a parent of a player agreed to do it. Thank you Mr Rooney and hopefully bang average players will stop moaning at good Ref's and The Ref will be able to enjoy his Saturday afternoon too. Moan over. We always seem to beat GSM and there is nothing between the 2 sides and often GSM batter us and we still get a result and today followed that pattern a bit. GSM were all over us first half and Ben ? with a cracker put GSM in front. We worked hard but without quite firing and were a little lucky to be only 1 down. The 2nd half was closer and we worked bloody hard but didn't show much quality then with 20 mins left Tom Mileham won a corner which he took quickly and caught everyone out by scoring. This lifted us and 10 mins from time the hard working Nathen Cummings put in a cross that again Tom Mileham got to against the odds to score the winner. Good luck to Andy Matt and all at GSM for the rest of the season. Cheers Bill.

Boscastle Reserves 2 - Biscovey 2

Line up: M Seldon, D Hambley, T Lyle, C Crook, J Seldon, J Gibson, R Nute, A Williams, R Williams, G Setiawan, M Jolliffe. Subs: J Strout, A Tapley and M Barrett.

A draw was a fair result in this game with both sides battling well. A real even contest with Biscovey coming from behind twice to secure a point. Boscastle took the lead mid way through the first half when the ball dropped nicely to Setiawan who beat the keeper from 25 yards with a great strike. Right before half-time Biscovey grabbed a leveller with a free kick into the box which ricocheted off a couple defenders and fell into the strikers path to tuck home. This was result of the pressure in the last 15 minutes and deserved. After half time Boscastle got back in front when Gibson played a smart ball through to Jolliffe who raced away and after a mix up with the defence and goalie dribbled into an empty net. Biscovey grabbed their second equaliser from another set piece where again the ball bounced around with the substitute striker scoring an overhead kick! A fine equaliser to a fine game and fair result.

Ben colquhoun, he put some wicked deliveries in first half that I was close to but couldn’t quite get to.  Generally we defended well but switched off for the corner and then a mistake. Enjoyed the games despite the results. Grateful to the ref for stepping in. We need these stand ins to take it up permanently so we’re all responsible to support them. Maybe it would be good for a ccfa representative to go and watch a game where there’s a stand in and give some advice/support

🤣🤣🤣 we don’t have enough referees never mind people to watch them.

I wasn’t talking about referees watching from the side. The ccfa have a committee and if one or two of them could watch a game to support, maybe the occasional stand in will take on more games. Or even retired referees could be asked to watch and give advice. The leagues have dwindled down in numbers and it’s still a struggle to get refs so something needs to be done
