Holmans 3-2 Wendron

A good game at Blaythorne I hear (wasn’t there) with Holmans taking the lead twice only for Wendron to level until the3rd Holmans goal secured the welcome 3 points which pushed them up the league a few places. Great to see Mark Perry back in a Holmans top and must have dug around in his garage to find his 2008 Holmans tracksuit he proudly wore in the bar after 😉😂

St Agnes 2-10 Penryn

The away side were 1 up in the first 3 min and added another 2 within the first 15 and it was pretty much game over after that making the next 75min a bit of a strange affair. A ‘Worldie’ for the home side  dragged it back to 1-3 but Penryn continued to give the defence a torrid time with the pace of Jason Roberts and Kyle Cooke causing pain and suffering all match. HT was 1-7 and the home side did well to limit the damage 2nd half but Penryn deserved winners and with Helston only taking a point at Mawnan probably enjoyed their pint a little bit more in the packed St Agnes clubhouse after the match

St Agnes 2

 Penryn 10 - Roberts x3, Cooke x2, Kent X2, Davies x2, Leivers.

Watched Aggie play Helston on Tuesday when they lost 2-0 but had more than enough chances to get something from the game. We expected a really tough afternoon, but I think Aggie would admit that they didn't play well & made it easy for us at times. The main story of the game was the pace of the Penryn front 3, which Aggie struggled to deal with from the very 1st minute. Some good goals scored, the game was played in the right spirit, there wasn't a single bad tackle & it was reffed really well by Neil Pitts. The pitch was as bad as I've ever seen at Aggie, which played into our hands as they had some decent, ball playing youngsters which is good to see, no doubt a few of them will be 1st team players of the future. Our players were dropping like flies which meant I played the 2nd half in goal, 1st team manager Harry Pope at right back & a CB partnership of Midfielder Martyn Jay & 1st team winger Bradley Leivers 😂

Clubhouse was bouncing after the game & thanks for the hospitality, look forward to the return game at Kernick.

Enjoyable afternoon at Mawnan where the spectators were treated to a proper 'old school' Combination League game - good goals, robust tackling and entertainment throughout. Honours deservedly even but a special mention to Luke Wort who was by far the best player on the pitch and scored two absolute belters! Great hospitality in the bar afterwards with the respective MoM's getting steak and chips, a classy touch from a great Club!
