Penzance go top after playing an under-strength St Erme at Penlee Park. The Magpies dominated most of the game apart from a ten minute spell at the start of the second half.

For the first twenty minutes the game is played within 35 yards of the visitors goal line. Pz take a 2-0 lead after wasting 7 chances that went within a foot or less past the posts or uprights also hitting the bar and having a goal disallowed.

A minute before h-t St Erme pull one back, then a few minutes after the restart are back on level terms.

A few minutes later Pz retake the lead and from then on St Erme run out of steam, heads drop. Pz often break with 7 men on the attack.

Not much the St Erme keeper can do and goals mount up.

Pz bring on one of last season's under 16's and he nabs a hat-trick in 5 minutes of being on the pitch.

With a lack of subs, St Erme start having players go down with cramps which does not help their back line.

Referee Grant Portafield had a quiet game as both sides played 'gently', no going flat out, no bad tackling and for once neither side moaned at him or pleaded for every knock or tackle.

St Just 6-2 Troon (HT 0-1) - Att 72

Despite both sides missing players due to boardmasters, camping trips and other awful reasons, a highly competitive game played out at Lafrowda. Troon scored early and put 11 men behind the ball, frustrating St Just and playing on the counter. Second half with the wind once St Just got 1 it was one way traffic.

Wendron 5ths 2-5 St Just 2nds (HT 1-3)

A great result for our Seconds in their first game in a few years. St Just with a good blend of youth and experience and deserved their win.

Chacewater 2 - 2 Redruth United Reserves

Cracker for both teams' first of the season. Chacewater 2 up in the first half and looked the better team.

Second half Redruth came back into the game and with a tiring Chacewater team scored two fairly late goals to take a point.

Probably a fair result in retrospect.

Chacewater won't be happy to lose a decent lead, Redruth maybe thought they could grab a winner in last 5/10 mins.

Some slight handbags after Redruth's first goal, but think everyone left it on the pitch, as it should be.

Thanks to Nick for reffing this afternoon.

Looking forward to the rematch :)

Glad to see your shrunken mojo reviving in such detail. Good for your morale not to have to play St Just this year. Top of Division Two already ! Come On You Pies !
