We promote it to our players and several do view the topics but engagement and membership will perhaps take time to grow. I have also periodically put the forum on socials as I have been prompted to do again today. It would be good to see all clubs promote the forum on socials and to their players as some supporters/players may not be aware of the forum as suggested. TheolderIgetthebetterIwas 1

We Two Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 Touring some of the few up to date web sites, it appears that a visit to a game of womens football will at least ensure being treated to a selection of goals. It appears that games are generally played on a Sunday, and so the option of a weekend of football is a possibility. The Ladies football we have seen on T.V. suggests that the play acting that adorns the mens game at present which involves rolling over in agony at the slightest touch, is yet to make a regular appearance in the ladies game. All very encouraging if that's the case, so roll on Sunday, can anyone name the game to watch ? TheolderIgetthebetterIwas 1
TheolderIgetthebetterIwas Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 I actually enjoy women's football due to the lack of diving, screaming and their attitude generally. They save all that for when they get home probably...lol.

Women may already use this forum. Most people use pseudonyms on here, so we don't know their gender (Big Al could be actually be "Big Alison"). TheolderIgetthebetterIwas and Thecupfootballblogger 2

Being involved with the professional game taught me that you will never please everyone all of the time, especially the manager whose livelyhood heavilly depended on your ability to carry out his game plan. If a derogatory comment was made to the press, you were in big trouble and woe betide you if the performance was repeated. Today seemingly anything goes and the game that once was admired by all has taken a backward step in my opinion, and due to the import of footballing talent, local boys who at one time dreamt of playing for the top teams in football ( and with the right commitment could have done so ) prefer to remain in local football where they can be a big fish in a small pond. Tommy Smith, Billy Bremner, Norman Hunter, Jack Charlton and Nobby Stiles were all capable of dishing out their own interpretation of the game, and all of them came from a family background that did them no special favours regarding their ability on the pitch. I have doubts how long any of them would be allowed to stay on the pitch if they played in todays games. Any doubts can be rectified if you catch a game of the era on T.V. " The Big Match Revisited " End of rant, hope I offended no one.
Toroloco13 Posted September 28, 2021 Report Posted September 28, 2021 I'm female and on this forum. I love banter, more than most men. Criticism isn't a problem either. Unfortunately there's many out there in the "real world" that speak to me in a less than respectful way when it comes to football. I have had it on here too but not because I am female. Sadly these days I feel that people are less respectful in general in the way that they speak to/treat others. Thecupfootballblogger, Dave Deacon, Marcus Grose and 1 other 4

Martin Eddy Posted October 23, 2021 Author Report Posted October 23, 2021 If you read my original post I said that I worked with a current player who did not know there was this section on women’s football. went to my local during the Euros and had a good chat with a group of young ladies, and really enjoyed my socially distance discussions with them. In fact one was a UEFA B coach and at the time worked for our county FA. Believe when I say they were very passionate about the game.

The forum as a whole, or just the women's football section? 😅 I don't know of any other women who are into football. I've been on other football forums. But I've always come up against blokes who have a problem with women knowing about "the beautiful game" (i.e. get back in the kitchen, don't you have some ironing to do...etc). I was even forced off one football forum. I like it here though. Although I've just had a flashback to the old days, and being on one of the other forums that I used to frequent. Not nice. Of course they can play football...then go back into the kitchen and do the ironing later...lol

Which means your shirts will still be creased, and your dinner will be late. Better start learning how to do things for yourself 😆😉 A lot of the ladies teams are better for staying than the men's teams these days! Marcus Grose and Thecupfootballblogger 2

This seems to be the case with most teams as the only regular report we seem to get comes from a game that Sticker have been involved in. Long may Razor61 take the time to do the reports, but in the interest of the ladies game, there must be others who can write a report on their teams fixtures ! Come on girls, create some interest in your team, it can only do you good.
Martin Eddy Posted November 23, 2021 Author Report Posted November 23, 2021 Having said that We Two not many men's teams do reports now. Will say that normally if I watch a game. I will give my opinion on here. But I am no poet laureate
Martin Eddy Posted November 24, 2021 Author Report Posted November 24, 2021 Used to be the highlight after the game reading the different reports whether bias or not.
