Sorry to bang on about it but did you know that since the 1st June, 199 members have visited this Forum.

However, only 47 (in total) of us have donated to keep it going! And that’s covering a period a lot longer too!

Come on guys and girls - if you haven’t yet put anything into the fund, all we’re asking for is a minimum £5.

it’s going to be a busy pre-season and surely you would like to be able to get all the news and views and participate in stunning debates and discussions!!!

In the meantime, many many thanks to those that have donated and it only leaves us looking at approx another £150 to get which will mean sufficient for a 12 month period.

Just in case you haven’t spotted the link - here it is again

Dont mind giving but.

Is it a requirement to add A % for go fund me site?.

If you mean the "Tip GoFundMe Services" - no not a requirement to give to that as well.

I've just won £25 on the premium bond . I was going to donate it to the " save the snow tiger " fund but they tell me that all of the snow tigers have been sponsored so they don't need anymore money . It is a similar situation with the sponsor a donkey appeal I then thought of giving it to the organisation that cares for your cat when you die , then I realised that I don't have a cat . I'm running out of worthy cause to give my £25 to , so I'll donate it this week to push it nearer the total needed .

I can't believe we're still looking for this money to keep the forum alive. Every club in the county must use this forum to ask for friendlies, advertise their games, check out the gossip etc. There must be roughly 100 different clubs in Cornwall, so if every club gave 7 quid we be done. It's not alot to ask.

£150? That's (allegedly) the going rate for a player's match day expenses under Phil Lafferty at Blazey.  ☺️

Thanks Keith , I'm fit and well  , just recovering from a sunny Castle Combe ( forecast was rain all day on Sunday , but it was scorching hot all day ) watching  the boy  race and looking for swallows  and house martins .

Thank you very much fenman. I feel a bit guilty that you’ve made another donation when those closer to home haven’t! However much appreciated

Don't feel guilty at all , I'm almost grown up enough to make my own decisions .Obviously my comments about the animal appeals were  cynical  but I did win £25 on the bond as did the mem sahib , so its £25  that  wasn't in my budget for motorbike racing so the forum is welcome to it . This is the only forum that I read and would like it to keep going . Over the years  I have picked up ideas and pointers from it about how , what I term village football , is headed. So from that point of view it has helped my own league improve with ideas we've adopted from leagues and clubs posts on here .

Realise that this forum is free to view and post on (and it should stay that way), but perhaps those who have donated should have a star (or something similar) after their user name.

We realise that this may have been mentioned before, but isn't it time that a fixed subscription should be made for those who want to use the forum.
It appears from the index at the start of the forum, that there are 5,993 members registered, and that the most members online was recorded as 990.
Using either one of those figures at a rate of £1 per head would pay for the forums set up fee, plus any excess can be forwarded to a charity, or towards the neccessary improvement of a football club.
At present those who donate to the forum ( rightly so as it's their choice at present ) are in fact subsidising those who use it for free.
If a £1 signing on fee is too much to expect from users of the forum, then it's in for an annual struggle to survive, and as has happened this year, repetitive pleas for support to enable it to exist.
One possibility we have considered is, " do the people who only come on board at the beginning of a season, know that there is a cost in maintaining the site, and that they could/should donate to ensure its existence?

From my 30 years of running a football club mostly in a state of despair at some  peoples inability to pay fines , match fees and  signing on fees I now realise that benefitting from something without paying for it is a common trait among the football fraternity . You have a very good forum where you have the ability to voice an opinion , report on games in many leagues and even discuss problems on ground maintinence  . An yet 6000 users can't find less than £100  to keep it running with deadline day approaching rapidly  . Let it die through lack of £1  each and you'll regret it when you haven't got  a means of posting  an opinion on something or even reading gossip , player movements , match reports  or even the  posts from  a senile pensioner from Norfolk about the lack of swallows and house martins .Rather than buying another pint to drown your sorrows when Scotland beat England today invest it in YOUR  forum .

Yes sincere thanks to everyone that has donated.

On the downside, and apologies for saying this but I feel I need to, it’s disappointing that the cost couldn’t have been shared out a little more as we still only had 60 donors, and as I write this, Monday early evening and a quiet time of the week for the forum, we’ve even now got 40 people looking at the site. We can’t rely on the same people donating every year when so many others get use or pleasure from the forum existing. It’s just not fair!

That’s my moan over with! 👍

Regarding the donation from Keith Manley - when I saw the name I did ask myself - is it the former Falmouth Town legend? If it is, please get in touch as I would love to hear some of your memories for either the podcast or magazine  (message me on here or just text me - 07759 502408).

Thanks again everyone,

Dave Deacon
