Wildee Posted May 28, 2021 Report Posted May 28, 2021 Praze fc are organising a squad run in hayle on Sunday the 20th to raise money for our future club fees and a local charity which will get 50% of the funds raised. The charity that we’ve selected means a lot to us and I’m sure to many others too in - the man down charity. Man down are a charity who support men’s mental health in Cornwall. They offer a very informal, safe and relaxed environment for men of all ages 18+ who are struggling with any kind of mental health issues. Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in this country. From the recent ONS data, men accounted for 3/4 of suicide deaths registered in 2019. The average rate of deaths per 100k of men was 16.9, that equates to 4303 suicides in one year which is the highest in 20 years. So we as a club have challenged ourselves to run 16.9 miles to raise money and awareness for a great cause. Many of us are not the best athletes so oxygen tanks will be at the ready!! Us and Man Down have set up a go fund me page so it would be amazing if anyone would like to donate to see the link below.
