I THINK WE SHOULD GIVE PORTHLEVEN SOME CREDIT TODAY.

FROM START TO FINISH THEY WANTED IT MORE THAN US. THE GAME ON A WHOLE WAS CRAP AS LOTS OF LOCAL DERBYS ARE.

BUT FOOTBALL IS ABOUT DESIRE AND WILL TO WIN NOT NAMES ON TEAM SHEETS AND WE WERE NOT AT THE RACES AND THE RESULT REFLECTS IT. WE ALSO MADE STUPID MISTAKES LIKE WE ARE DOING EVERY WEEK AND YOU GET PUNISHED SOMETIMES. TODAY WE WERE AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN MORE

CHANGES WILL BE MADE AND NOT ONE PERSON IN MY SIDE CAN MOAN IF THEY SIT OUT NEXT WEEK....NOT ONE!!!!!!

WELL DONE TO PORT AND KEV . I ALSO WISH YOU THE BEST ON YOUR OP TONIGHT LET ME KNOW HOW YOU DO BUD!!!!!

BRAGGING RIGHTS TO PORT BUT LETS NOT FORGET WE HAVE TO GO THERE AND BELIVE YOU ME THE ATTITUDE WILL BE DIFFERANT....

Only one 1st teamer in the team, James Street, though Marcus Smith (who scored the penalty) has played SWL for Newquay and Darren Ball has played SWL for Pz last season but now can't due to work commitments.

Most of the team were the same as we played at Wendron, just playing better plus last time, as I wrote in todays program, your keeper played well at your place.

Your keeper made a brilliant stop today to push a shot around the post for a corner.

Todays game was 50 - 50 first half with little or no good chances played in the middle 1/3 of the pitch. 2nd Half Pz came out flying, got the goal and then you pushed us back for quite a while.

You scored late on and the game was more even but blame the ref for the extra time so we could get the penalty. Only our 2nd we've scored this year out of the 8 we've been awarded.

8mins extra played in the end. When I got home my tea was cold!

i am that keeper ctb&i apriciate you're compliments. thankyou. damo also made an outstanding save in the 1st half. pissed off to be booked. teach me to open my mouth though. once again, i might just b a sore loser, but i couldnt get my head around the referees inconsistency today, but as we say, footballs a funny old game.

certainly spices thing up at the bootom.

Perranporth 1-0 Mullion

Jamie Hall got the Perran goal, but it should have been more. We had a Simon Jones penalty saved, Jamie Cox hit the inside of the post and we had a goal not given when the ball was at least a foot over the line! Mullion had a few chances - one free kick clipped the top of the bar, and I had to tip another one over.

im pretty sure penalty was given around the 88th minute paul???

i asked the ref after how long was left and he said 2mins plus stoppage

i would of said at most he played just over 3 mins stoppage time.

hav to admit-it did seem like forever--have to say though Paul aka cornish teddy boy, it was some penalty under the circumstances!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

did you notice Mike brown couldnt even watch when i stepped up!!

he told me that Pz had missed something like 7 pens!!!!!

well wont be the case anymore!!!!

you doin match report m8??

Penryn 2 v Newquay 2

100 miles an hour and a really committed display from both sides.

Penryn were carried by two super performances from 'Stevie' the striker and the No.11 'Gatuso' lookalike/play-alike/snarl-a-like midfielder who both contributed heavily and both scored very well taken goals. They were two thorns in our side and I was sorry I only got chance to congratulate one of them at full time.

On the best pitch in Cornwall neither has any excuse for the amount of sliced clearances and poor passes...but amidst the mayham there was some great football too.

Newquay had the game by the throat until 40 minutes when Penryn took a surprise lead. A sulky Newquay side were shell-shocked and fell apart for the 5 minutes til half time and Penryn stole in just before the break for a second.

Newquay did not let themselves down second half and came out pumped up and dominated most of the second half. We missed an open net, forced a great save and smashed home a goal all in the first 5 minutes of the second half. Scott Palmer's 25yard deflected drive left the keeper with no chance after clipping the defender on route to the back of the net.

Not long afterwards, Scott Palmer won himself a penalty and fired home from the spot. Penryn players were still buzzing around the ref after the game claiming it was never a penalty but I have not seen many more clear cut ! He cut back from the bye-line face on to the retreating defender who telegraphed a knee high swing of the boot. Scott tried to vault the tackle but was audibly and visibly 'whacked' and he had no where to go except down. The attempt to avoid the 'hack' was possibly theatrical but deep down I think the Penryn players are clutching at straws if they think this in itself is a reason not to give the penalty.

Newquay had most of the play again second half and I (rose coloured specs, I hear you say) think we deserved to win but things were not to be.

Penryn certainly did enough to warrant a point; although I think they will be the happier with a point despite a 2goal lead at the break.

PS Well done again to Winno for the great job he is doing. He did not get thre result he wanted but as always he says it how it is, good or bad and it is a shame he doesnt always get the respect for his honesty and integrity. I have plenty respect for the man.

St.Just 1 Perranwell 2

Perran took the lead after Neil Curnow's attempted spectacular flick with the back of his calf went to a blue shirt, which he hacked down. From the resultant Perran free kick driven at pace skipper Neil soared and powered an unstoppable header into the top corner of brother Andrew's net. It was even better than cousin Chris's og three weeks before. A good equaliser from Stuart Nicholls running at the Perran defence was undone in the last seconds of the half when the Perran no 7 strode on and hit a good winner low into the net 7 seconds before the referee blew for half time. Second half performance from Tinners a bit muted: John Curnow, St just lino, disallowed third Perran effort. Jon Bird shot over late on and there was a fair penalty shout when Perran keeper clattered Stuart Nicholls, but overall, Perran were good value for the points.

Fairly sound recollection of the game, Carl. I can't imagine for one second that many people would be pleased to be likened with Gennaro Gattuso though!!

The goal Gattuso scored was a really good finish, great technique. Shame Newquay coulnd't have managed a win, a victory would have been a great way to start moving up the table, due to cancellations Newquay started twelve points behind Penryn - but had six games in hand!!

No offence meant ! He was far better looking than Gattuso but had the dark hair stubbly beard and was very tough in his tackling and got right under my skin in the midfield. He did his job and took his goal very well ! It was meant as a compliment. I accept as a baldy midfielder, I wont get comparisons to Beckham or Gerrard. I guess comparisons people would make of me will be with Carsley or Gravenson !!!

I was pleased to see Penryn have a number of talented youngsters coming through; although some were still too inexpereinced to make a mark on the game.

All the best Penryn. It is my target to finish top half of the table ahead of the likes of yourselves and with 6 games in hand, 12 points adrift is not unachievable !

Despite the fact we missed out on 3 points it could have been worse so I am not too unhappy with a point. Also, it was a great game to be involved in; a great challenge. And win, lose or draw - I love being involved in games like that.

:drink: Hayle 3-1 St Day

Hayle goals by Adam Northall 1 Kevin Toms 2

The first half was a tight game and very scrappy from a spectator point of view St Day caused us problems down the right side for the first ten due to our formation but after changing to 4-4-2 to match them the game evened out a great strike from just outside the box by Adam Northall took a deflection and found the keepers top right hand corner, St Day hit back and a cross into our box was punched by Steve Luke to St Day player who headed into an empty net, 1-1 at half time.

We came out for the second half with more determanation to improve on our first half performance and looked bettter for it Kevin Toms scored 10 min after the restart with a good looping header and finnished the game off 38 min into the second half with a great turn on the edge of the box to hit the ball into the keepers top right hand corner giving him no chance.

The game was played in good spirit by both teams good luck to St Day for rest of season.
