Club Announcment

Perranporth Football Club is delighted to formally announce the appointment of our new management team of Brian Fisher Symon Winnan and Mark Woolcock, who will be taking the reigns of our combination league team with immediate effect.
In the previous 2 seasons this side has been managed on short term/ tempory basis by myself, shayne mayer and Ben byfield and the club would like to place on record our sincere thanks for all the work and time that has been put in the team especially with the way in which it has worked out with all the restrictions and cancellations.
With this appointment, we would also like to confirm that we will be applying to the league to add a reserves team, but this will be confirmed subject to league approval, but can't see any problems.
We have a brilliant youth set up and our u16 and u18s players will link in with our 2 mens sides in addition to keeping our highly sucssesfull u18 team and all 3 teams will work together to ensure success for all 3.

Myself and Mark Glanville (present u16s manager), will be overseeing the reserves team and integration of young players and working closely with Brian, symon and Mark to ultimately be as sucsessfull as possible, as we transition our young players into mens football.

All present players are welcome to integrate into the new set up and you can all play a vital part in the clubs future, our younger players will need the guidance of experience to assist there development and we are hoping that the restructure turns out to be positive for all the present playing squad at every level.

Welcome to Perranporth. Below is a statement from Brian introducing the new team.

Here you go.......... Brian Fisher, Symon Winnan and Mark Woolcock are taking over our first team from immediate effect and will be looking to build a successful team for the 2021/22 season. Training at Perranporth is every Tuesday 7pm - 8.30pm starting 13th April and 3 friendlies already booked in for May. All existing, new and previous players are more than welcome as "open training" on 13th and 20th April. So if any players want to come and have a look at our facilities and meet the coaches then please just turn up, you will be made very welcome!!
Brian as a player won the Cornwall combination league twice, league cup 3 times and Everly cup with Perranwell and also had one season at Truro City in the South Western League. Brian and Mark coached the very successful Truro City Devils youth team from U9 - U16s winning numerous league titles and cups, as well as winning the County Cup two years running. They then transitioned into adult football management at Threemilestone, Carharrack and St.Agnes reserves before taking a break for two seasons waiting for the right opportunity to arise. Symon played in goal for Penryn, Porthleven, Newquay (to name a few) winning the combination league, cup and Everly cup. Symon also represented the Royal Naval and won the Navy cup. He has managed Helston, Newquay, St.Day and Penryn and has his FA badges.
Mark is a qualified paramedic and works for the FA in training Premier league physios, often travelling to their training grounds and talking to physios, players and coaches.
We are very excited about this opportunity and look forward to building a successful team to challenge in the Combination league.
