Billy Davies
Losty 2 Saltash 5. A deserved win for a physical and hard working Saltash. We had chances in the first half but missed them and Saltash were better all over the park. We will need to work harder and be better!!!

Ian B
Gerrans & St Mawes United 2 Southgate Seniors 0 A game dominated by the very windy conditions thanks to Storm Alex, definitely a day for trying to keep the ball on the ground. The first half didn't produce much in the way of clear cut chances. Southgate playing down the hill with the wind at their backs to often over hitting the pass, whilst GSM struggled when they didn't keep the ball down. GSM had the first chance when a free kick played in to the box by Josh Kendall after 3 mins was headed against the bar by Ryan Morcom. The rebound fell to Jordan Rogers who was unable to control the finish but the linesman's flag was raised for offside (not sure if that was for the initial header or the follow up.) 5 mins and Ryan Morcom get in behind the defence but this time pulled his cross shot wide. Southgate's first chance came after 7 mins when GSM lost the ball in midfield, the ball broke to the Southgate player on the left edge of the area but his left foot shot sailed wide. 14 mins in and the first clear chance of the game fell to Southgate, as a ball was slide in behind the GSM defence but keeper Matt Parker was out quickly to save with his legs from the advancing striker. A minute later, a long ball from the back by the Southgate defence almost put their number 17 in on goal but again Matt Parker was alive to the danger and came out to punch the ball clear, taking man and ball to cries for a penalty from the Southgate supporters. The game went a bit quite with both sides struggling to master the tricky conditions until the 37th min when a short back pass by Southgate almost allowed Shane Kibell in. He managed to beat the keeper to the ball and poke it goalward but a covering defender was there to clear the danger. GSM kept the pressure on and a ball in to the box was diverted towards goal by Ryan Morcom but the Southgate keeper was on hand to block and the ball was cleared. 0-0 at HT GSM were straight out of the blocks in the second half with Ryan Morcom through on goal almost straight from the restart but scuffed his shot. GSM didn't have to wait long though for the opener, when after 48 mins a ball in to the box fell to Shane Kebill who poked the ball towards goal. The initial effort was saved by a combination of keeper and defender but the lose ball fell to Ryan Morom who placed a right foot shot in to the net, despite the efforts of 2 Southgate defenders on the line. Scruffy goal but they all count. GSM appeared much happier with the wind at their backs and with Sean Johnson pulling the strings in the centre of the park took control of the game. 58 mins and nice inter play between Sean Johnson and Shane Kebill put Shane through on goal but his right foot shot was straight at the keeper, who saved well. On 60 mins GSM pushed forward and won a corner. The ball was played in by Josh Kendall, after a challenge in the air the ball fell to Nick Webb who saw his right foot snapshot tipped on to the bar by the Southgate keeper. On 75 mins GSM won a free kick on the right edge of the Southgate box for a strong challenge on Jordan Rogers, Sean Johnson stepped up to fire the ball just wide of the left-hand post with the visiting keeper rooted to the spot. On 80 mins Southgate almost equalised when the wind held the ball up, allowing their number 9 to pick up the ball, drive towards the box, check inside on to his right foot and strike a curling shot that came back off the bar. GSM went straight up the other end and Sean Johnson was almost through on goal but the keeper came out well to smother the ball at his feet. GSM didn't have to wait much longer for their next chance. Forcing a corner after 81 mins, Josh Kendall delivered the ball in to the 6 yard box where Nick Webb rose unchallenged to power an unstoppable header passed the keeper to give GSM a well deserved 2-0 lead. There was still time for GSM to push for a 3rd goal but George Brown was twice denied by the keeper and Ryan Morcom had 1 more chance deep into injury time but hit his shot straight at the Southgate keeper. Good luck to Southgate for the rest of the season. Thank you to referee Alan Howells, our lino Ian Peters and the Southgate lino
Footballlover442
St mawgen reserves 1 Lostwithiel reserves 2 Cracking result for losty on what was a nice surface at St mawgen but an extremely windy day Losty took the lead midway through the first half nathen Cummings will claim the goal but I think it might have actually been an own goal, awful defending lead to a st mawgen goal just on half time our left back passed it back to the keeper ball hit some dodgy turf and the keeper missed the ball and it rolled in an empty net Half time we made some changes and eventually the winner came from Shane Cummings after a well worked free kick the ball being smashed home, lots of st mawgen long balls into the wind caused us lots of problems but we held on for the 3 points We were probably the better of the 2 sides and deserved the points
