Losty 6 Lifton 0

A good performance from us today though we did have the rub of the green at crucial moments. Still a clean sheet and 3 points and goals for our front three. A game played in the right spirit by both sides and well reffed by Ian Spurling and 6 points from 2 games . Saltash at home next week which could well be a sterner test.

Yea we struggled today a bit of luck our way and we may have kept in it a bit more. The 3rd took anything away from us and we struggled to get any momentum going

I agree Badgers. You hit the post just before half time which would have made it 2-1 and then we scored a minute into the second half and it is 3-0. Good luck for the  rest of the season and see you at yours later in the season.

Lost v Lifton

It was great to get a run out in my first league game this season , after a injury problem,  I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Losty and Lifton for playing the game in the right spirit a credit to Duchy League football.  I hope I get to see both sides again this season and wish them both good luck.  Thanks to Losty and Old timer Billy Davies for what is always great hospitality.

North petherwin res 4 Lostwithiel res 1

A few  new lads making their 1st appearances for losty today in a new formation. Awful start with a goal assisted by the wind taking over our keeper before loads of sloppy errors and a lack of effort on our part found us 2 down. Wonderful goal from rhys huggings got us back in the game before we missed a spot kick just before half time. 2nd half another Change of formation but no difference poor performances from everyone and 2 more sloppy goals conceded

Credit to North Petherwin who know how to play their pitch

Gerrans & St Mawes 7 Calstock 1

Calstock started well, taking advantage of the strong wind at their backs playing down the slope to force a couple of early corners.
GSM took the lead after 8 mins when a through ball by Andy Harris was missed by the Calstock defence, allowing Jordan Rogers to run clean and slot the ball in to the net.
GSM then took the lead from a corner, as Hadyn Andrew rose highest in the six yard box to nod home. GSM were well into their stride now and added to their lead when George Brown slotted a debut goal after 16 mins. The forth goal arrived 5 mins later, again a well placed corner from Josh Kendall finding the head of Matt Trethewey, another debutant goal. GSM continued to control the game and George Brown collected his second goal and GSM's fifth on 32 mins when he latched on to another through ball that eluded the Calstock defence. Some sloppy play in midfield from GSM, neat interplay from Calstock and good advantage played by the referee resulted in Calstock's Matteo Mancini striking a lovely left foot shot in to the far corner from just outside the area on 35 mins. GSM went in to the break leading 5-1.
Calstock again started the second half on the front foot and had a couple of efforts on goal without troubling the GSM keeper. GSM then regained control, missing a few chances before Josh Kendall stepped up to unleash an unstoppable right foot shot in to the top corner from outside the area. Straight from the kick-off GSM should have scored again when Sean Johnson, who had just arrived as a sub, broke in to the box and with just the keeper to beat but his left foot shot high and wide. GSM pushed forward for more goals which duly came when Josh Kendall struck again with another beauty with his right foot from even further out. There could have been more goals for GSM with George Brown striking the cross bar in search of his hattrick, Josh Kendall denied his hattrick by the linesman's flag, when it appeared he had timed his run to perfection and some wayward shooting. A well deserved victory to start the season.

Thanks to Daniel Catacutan for officiating the game, our lino Ian Peters, Calstock's linos and Calstock for making the long journey down to the Roseland, good luck for the rest of the season.
