Not appearing any more and now showing for 18th April 2020. Mystery solved as subsequently told that postponed as waterlogged. Likewise there was also Perranwell v Ludgvan planned to be played but I understand Ludgvan have approached the league and asked for a few games off to try and regroup. Well beaten (5-3) by a determined Borough side today, 3 down in 15 mins and 5 just after half-time, before we got started. Scoffy Posted December 14, 2019 Report Share Posted December 14, 2019 What a difference a week makes a debacle against illogan and disappointed to lose 3 lads and an assistant guv' nor who we wish nothing but the best. But an opportunity for youngsters to come in and go back to basics, the returning Freddie at the back, Tom Russell in midfield with Al Williams and captain Isaac back on the bench after long term injury and deserved starts for youngsters Max, Karl and Jake with Louis and Blatchy jnr also on the bench we played with no fear taking the game to Hayle. With the wind behind there backs Hayle had chances Cam popping two wide of the post and one straight on to it but only Barb's goal to show for it. Second half and we'd created enough in the 1st half to suggest we could cause trouble and Freddie Williams free header from a pin point Reno cross levelled the scores, almost immediately it was two Freddie popping home from a yard after great work down the left, Hayle came back with a couple of half chances before Reno again causing problems being brought down for a penalty which Freddie dispatched for his hat trick, with two solid banks of four we fairly comfortably saw out the last 20 with Hayle's final ball being unusually wayward, chuffed with the points and obviously wish Hayle all the best for the rest of the season Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It was blowing a gale diagonally from top left corner flag to bottom right. With Porthleven v St.Austell postponed Mullion benefitted strengthening their side with a few players but it didn’t deter Penryn as they took the lead after 2 minutes and 45 seconds when their wing backs combined as Jake Shaw crossed from the right and Bradley Leivers came in at the far post to hit a volley on the full stretch into the bottom corner. The hosts equalised after 10 minutes when a ball into the box from the left was half cleared to the edge of the area and home skipper Chris Blee smashed a shot into the top corner. Five minutes later it got even better for the hosts when Blee’s strike from 15 yards took a massive deflection and ended up in the bottom corner. To complete a crazy first 20 minutes Leivers strong run from the halfway line ended with him scoring with another deflected shot spinning into the bottom corner from 20 yards despite him being hacked from behind by a midfielder scampering back, great strength and balance to keep his feet from Brad and great advantage from George as always who went back after the goal to yellow card the home hacker. Mullion missed an absolute sitter two minutes after that when the striker slid in and sent the ball over the bar from 3 yards. Another great cross from Shaw saw Leivers denied an hat-trick by home stand in keeper Neil Rollinson who tipped his towering header around the post. He made an even better save on the half hour mark when Jack Rapsey flicked the ball over the giant 6ft 7 Mullion centre half’s head and hit a volley only for Rollinson to pull off a superb reflex save to his left. Three minutes later Blee nipped in to prod past visiting keeper Dan Lord, the effort looked offside for a moment but after consultation between George and Alan the Penryn Lino one of the fairest I’ve seen over the years by the way the goal was given for the impressive Blee to complete a 23 minute first half hat-trick. Rollinson kept out another header on 37 minutes from his own defender under pressure from Leivers. Three minutes into the 2nd half a thunderbolt of a shot from 25 yards smashed against the underside of the bar and down onto the line, or close to it, or over it!? There’s no way George or Alan could have given it from their positions but over or not there’s no doubt it was a cracking strike, sorry I don’t know who it was I was sitting in the car listening to the local and national half time results! The usually immaculate Nick Boase one of my favourite ball playing defenders in the county in my opinion uncharacteristically got caught in possession on the edge of his own area but the shot flashed past the far post. Penryn dominated the last 20 minutes in almost darkness getting the ball wide to Leivers on the left and sub Reggie May on the right and using the ball over the top to the speedy Ryan Reeve and into the feet of Rapsey and they created some decent chances which ended with a deserved equaliser when Leivers low driven cross from the left was turned in at the near post by a home full back trying to clear in the 83rd minute. A minute from time Harry Roberts free kick from wide was turned away by Rollinson once again for a corner and with the 90 minutes up George blew his whistle while the players could still find their way off the pitch with what little light was left!!! Lucky we only had a 10 minute half time 👍 Fair result I think, Mullion deserved their half time lead and Penryn were the better side second half going down the slope with he wind, credit to the players for a decent game in horrible conditions for football. Even without their top scorers Ross Duncan and Josh Magin, their unbeaten home record wasn’t threatened too much as Perran’s main man upfront, Gavin Boon, either failed to get the better of the Saltings undulating surface or was quickly shut down by home defence who went onto keep only their second league clean sheet of the season. Apologies if I’ve got the names wrong, but after recovering from the surprise of seeing St Ives in a very bright coloured pink kit, I’m pretty sure it was Max Davies who gave them the lead in the 9th minute. I express doubt as according to the stats on FA Full-time, he’s only made one appearance before this one this season! Their free-kick specialist Joe Day doubled the hosts lead in the 29th min and although I thought the visitors might have made a game of it in the second half with the wind behind them, they failed to get any serious grip on the game and St Ives wrapped up the outcome with a third in the 73rd minute when after a VAR check for presumably a possible offside, referee Kevin Knowles pointed to the centre spot for a goal, which I think was another from Davies, but by then I was sheltering in the undergrowth down the wrong end of the pitch! But I think it’s a new law where if the ref stops the game it’s an uncontested drop ball to the team that last touched it. Twice he stopped it for an injury and once for it hitting him. Roger Moore Posted December 16, 2019 Report Share Posted December 16, 2019 I don't think it is all doom and gloom on the referee/assistant referee side of things....the perranporth lino put his flag up when we scored our third goal on Saturday but was honest enough to say to Kevin Knowles that he had made a mistake and the goal stood...the previous week our Lino gave a goal to redruth as he saw that the ball had crossed our line before it was cleared...there are still some good people out there trying to help the referees....
