🧤🧤SAINTS SPECIAL SCENARIO🧤🧤

Today, St Day AFC had all three adult GoalKeepers from players who are currently in or have come through the youth and probably the youngest set of GKs to play for the saints, however we are keen to hear if any other clubs have achieved similar?

Our current U16 GK; Dylan played his first game in adult football today for our 3rds and was named MOTM in their 2-1 win over Falmouth DC. Dylan aged 16, played due to last year's U16 keeper; George Knight being unavailable today. Mike Palmer, youth coach and club player for a few years now was too unavailable, so up stepped 17 year old James Richards. James is a current adult player, U9s coach, girls coach and heads up our youth players council. Ben Whiting has made his spot his own in the first team and is too an ex youth player of our St Day Invincibles.

💛🖤Statistics💛🖤

3rds: Dylan 16yrs 28days

2nds: James Richards 17yrs 34 days

1st: Ben Whiting 17yrs 125 days

So today between our three GKs they totalled only 50years 187 days!!!

However interesting to note if George had played today being 17 years and 12 days and Mike Palmer being 22 years and 51 days the total would still only have been 56 years 188 days which is still an amazing statistic.

Well done to ALL coaches and managers present and past who have worked with us and continue to put the time and effort into our youth section and to those that give them the opportunities. Today once again showed the value of such a community club.

Both the Adult Chairman & Youth Chairman are tonight naturally as proud as always of our 14 football teams but being both ex keepers themselves are just that little bit prouder. Well done to Ben, James, Dylan, George, Mike and not forgetting Craig Clinton, GKs are very special people 🧤🧤
