Perranwell pitch marginal at 1200 inspection, having another look at 1pm, not optimistic

We are going to give it a go, see what the ref says

Redruth United 0 st. Day 5 (3).                    The real winner today was the wind, that said it was great to be involved in a game of football. St. Day took the lead in the first minute from a corner when a group  of players who contested the ball only for it to drop at the feet of Luke Hart for a tap in. We conceded a further 2 goals to reach the break 3 nil down against a very strong wind. Second half we played better forcing there defence into errors but losing another 2 goals. Well done to St. Day deserved the win. Would like to say it was a credit to both teams today the conditions were not good but there was not one  bad tackle. It was nice to see 2 very young keepers who were both a credit to the game making good saves and not looking out of place. The ref today had an outstanding game. He reffed with common sense and quietly got on with the game and both Adrian and myself as his assistants thoroughly enjoyed the game. Also thanks to Clive Jones from St. Day who went around with the tin collection for us.

Perranwell  2-1 Helston

Sort of expecting the BS about helston only winning when 1st team are involved etc etc 😴😴

However perran played the conditions better than we did think they would agree we played the better football but it wasn't a day for pretty football, they got there lead and defended it admirably and although we knocked on the door we couldn't get the goal that would given us a draw we probably deserved, nice to see perranwell beginning to get some important players back and will be a much better team 2nd half of the season and wish them nothing but the best. Really looking forward to Dom's brannel review with Snapesey on monday, he can talk me through his wind assisted goals 🙊🙈😂

Fair summation Scoffy, touch harsh on the boy for the "wind assisted" goals, the second one you hadn't moved by the time it hit the back of the net! 😜 Both keepers also made a couple of outstanding saves at critical points. Thought the game was well reffed by Jamie Mooney, unfussy performance and let the game flow. Pitch stood up better than we thought it would prior to the game, but just nice to be playing football again tbh. Got a couple more players back from injury who should hopefully be in contention for next week, hopefully we can build on this result over the Christmas period.

Only 3 reports on Saturdays games, are people really interested in football anymore.

Not a lot.

Organised youth football, televised football, Xbox, mobile phones, skateboards, hoverboards, BMX bikes and all the rest has a greater attraction than local football.

Things we never had to distract us of course.
