Darin Morse
Goonhavern 1 Foxhole 4 Saturday 2nd February 2008 Although a typically fierce Reen Manor Parc gale inevitably ensured this was never going to be one for the purists, Foxhole won't be complaining as they ran out comfortable victors against distinctly average opponents. Hill's clever lob opened the scoring on 3 minutes after Lindsey-White failed to deal with Fairclough's hopeful punt forward and Dillon ought to have extended the lead on the quarter hour, but he opted to attempt a volley instead of getting his head to Warne's inviting cross. Home keeper Mitchell denied both Warne and Rickard each on two occasions while the lively Hill drove narrowly over, as the Foxes took charge without needing to play particularly well. Bullock was booked for dissent but he and the rest of the rearguard were otherwise unruffled by the lightweight Goonhavern attack. Within a minute of the restart, Rickard made it 2-0, rounding off a fine dribble with a thunderous left-footed drive that crashed into the net off the underside of the bar, and he was unlucky with another effort moments later. Bromley, again disappointing, then missed his kick when well-placed, while a kind rebound fell to Rickard, but his shot bounced wide. Shortly after Hill had miscued a volley, a poor clearance presented Rickard with a tap in with 20 minutes remaining, but, on 81, Fairclough's hand-ball allowed Robertson to grab a consolation from the spot. In the final minutes, yet more chances went begging until, right at the death, Bromley's low cross flew off the unfortunate Lindsey-White and past the wrong-footed Mitchell. Foxhole (3-5-2): Ryan Holland 6; Jamie Bullock 6 (sub. Colin Morris 6), Mark Rowe 6, Richard Fairclough 6; Jason Warne 6, Martin Giles 6, Jeff Dillon 6, Adam Bromley 5, Adam Holland 6; Scott Hill 7 (sub. Liam Nicholls 6), Carl Rickard 7 (sub. David Grose 5). Goonhavern (4-4-2): John Mitchell; Ken Bishop (sub. Gavin Counter), Rob Handley, Peter Lindsey-White, Jason Barber; Craig Barclay, Lee Denton (sub. Matt Luff), Dean Blatch, Ross Maynard; Paul Robertson, Dan Thomas (sub. Josh Mitchell). Referee: Mr Paul Corcoran (Penmere) 7.
whuru
a very fair assesment of the game Darin, we were absolutly awful, the worst we have played since I took over but thats not to take anything away from Foxhole who deservedly won the game. We only had two shots and one of them was the penalty !!!!! After looking like pulling away from the bottom two a couple of weeks ago we are now back in amongst it and it could be any one of three that go down now. dave bunt
John, I'm sure whuru meant any one of three are in a position to finish bottom of the league. It's only the bottom team that gets relegated

whuru
Hi Johnnie, I think if it was us we would go into JCCL but I don't think that is a definate, although our geographical location (ooooh) means we could go into ECPL, hopefully it won't come to that.....
