CORNWALL AIRPORT NEWQUAY DUCHY LEAGUE

A small number of games were played as County cup re-arrangements and weather again badly affected the Duchy programme.

In the Shoe Boy League Cup Group H is in an interesting position after Bude Town Thirds scored an impressive 7-1 win over Week St Mary to leave all three clubs in the group level on three points from two games. This game was switched to Bude after the Week St Mary pitch was declared unplayable. The hosts led two nil at the break and increased their advantage over their higher ranked rivals after the break. Trey Hooper and Yassen Cook scored a brace apiece for the hosts with their scoring completed by Max Garcia, Ben Trenaman and Travis Baker.

St Eval Spitfires would have started Group D as favourites but fell to a third successive defeat when beaten 3-0 at home by Boscastle reserves, and now have virtually no hope of progressing further. Aaron Williams hit a brace for the visitors with Ali Gibbons getting their other goal.

Gorran have gone to the top of Division One after playing some good football in difficult conditions at St Minver reserves. The hosts scorer was Rob Elliott.

Delabole United failed to secure a first league win of the season in Division Three when held four all at home by St Mawgan reserves. Dan Mountain hit a hat trick for the hosts with Mike Titchen their other marksman. Both sides scored two goals in each half as the game ebbed and flowed.

Does anyone know what the latest time that a team in duchy can call the game off if the pitch isn’t playable?

You could leave it to the match referee to decide when they get there, and can be postponed at any time up to kickoff, or abandoned at any time after kickoff.

to save everyone travelling if the pitch is obviously waterlogged/dangerous, look where everyone has to travel from and allow a pitch inspection And phone calls to be concluded before everyone would leave.
