St Just vs Lanner off due to safety concerns.

Pitch is 85% playable and would be 100% with a bit of forking (3 hours until kick off) but referee concerned about safety due to the wind and has called it off.

Feel bad for Lanner who have booked a minibus and want the game to go ahead, as do St Just, however can’t due to safety concerns with the wind. We also have an experienced independent ref who would feel comfortable reffing, but can’t after an official calls it off.

Apologies to Lanner and see you later in the season - probably midweek in the summer when everyone’s trying to get through their backlog of games!

Not a drop of rain since the inspection, bright blue sky with just the expected St Just breeze in the air. Apparently the ref never looked interested and because of that he’s ruined what would’ve been a perfectly good game.

St Just feast weekend and no game, probably cost the club £500 what with the raffle etc??? And just because of the wind??? Why couldn’t we get an independent ref in, or someone else to check the pitch. Frustrating when Buryan and penzance are on, only 6-7 miles away. Even Holmans are on!!!

Hi Dave, as well as opinions it must be foremost about the safety of the players. At the end of the day it is the referree  who has to assess  the conditions and make a decision, whether  the teams think it's  right or wrong  doesn't  matter.  How's the sausage chips and fag ash?😁

I’m sure the players are safe when it’s windy - the worst it can do is mess up their hair.

If we are calling games off for the wind then we really have hit rock bottom. Holmans pitch notoriously poor in the wet - if they’re on then we could safely play on Sennen beach!

To be fair you’d be better off on Sennen beach with the state of St Just pitch. Oh dear what a Numpty . Jealousy won’t get you anywhere .  Must be the air down west .

Messing up their hair IS serious these days!

Have a beer mate and stay calm. I know how frustrating a Saturday is without football but there’s no need to get aggy. You should of spent today watching a decent game instead of seething that your pitch wasn’t playable.

The problem wasn't  with  the pitch  apparently  but with  the safety  of the participants.   Oh and it was feast  weekend  at St Just  so does that mean players safety should be sacrificed for money  into  the club?  Feast game was always on a Monday,  used to be a select 11 vs St Just.
