Gunnislake stretched their lead at the top of the Premier Division after an impressive 3-0 home win over St Newlyn East. The first half was quite even with the deciding factor coming early in the second half when Newlyn had a player sent off for a second caution. It took Gunnislake twenty minutes to break them down but once they did a brace from Kevin McCallion and a Liam Bryant goal took them to a win against one of their greatest rivals for the title.

St Merryn has had a difficult start as they are forced to play all their early season games away from home as their new changing facilities are behind schedule. At the seventh attempt they won their first game and moved out of the bottom two after a 4-2 success at Stoke Climsland. Jack Bray hit a brace with Brown and Josh Dark getting a goal apiece for St Merryn. Josh Pope score both Stoke goals.

In the only game in Division One Pensilva beat Dobwalls reserves 5-2. The teams traded own goals before two Alex Caers goals put Pensilva 3-1 ahead. Sam Hummagain reduced the arrears before goals from Sam Rogers and Liam Donaghy secured the hosts victory.

Nanpean Rovers move second in Division Two on goal difference although they were made to fight before beating Week St Mary 4-3 in a good game. Reece Willmott scored a brace for Nanpean with Ryan Best and Kyle Willmott adding a goal apiece. Week replied with goals from Steve Short, Anthony Sachs and Paul Banks.

North Hill fell to another heavy defeat beaten 8-1 at home by St Eval Spitfires. Matt Hawke and Ben Hawken both hit braces with Shane Wade, Jon Summerfield, Jonathan Rosevear and Tom Shaw completing the Spitfires tally. Josh Legg hit the home consolation.

In the group stages of the Duchy Knock Out Cup Foxhole reserves had a superb 4-2 win over Premier side St Breward. Jamie Robinson scored a brace and Caleb Hawken added another as Foxhole led 3-0 at half time. Adam Bennett pulled a goal back for St Breward with twenty minutes to play but Hawken scored the hosts third ten minutes later when he converted a penalty. With the last kick of the game Matt Hamley scored a second for the visitors.

Holywell/Cubert Athletic finally won their first game of the season beating Mevagissey 5-1. Wayne Riley opened the scoring for Holywell with Lloyd Grose equalising from the penalty spot. Lee Mann restored the hosts lead before half time with Alex Taylor getting the third in the second period. Riley scored his second from just inside the Mevagissey half with the fifth scored from the spot by goalkeeper Simon Drew with power and style.

Lifton raced in to a two-goal lead with Sean Tucker and George Murrain scoring at home to Tintagel. Lifton then conceded a goal through an Adam Price header but extended their lead to 3-1 with Tucker scoring his second. Lifton could have put the game out of sight in the first half with a number of chances missed by player manager Barry Rutherford with one open goal that went over the bar from 4 yards. After the break Tintagel grew into the game and pulled it back to one down with a Nick Hardcastle shot. Tucker then completed his hat trick with a strong shot inside the box as Lifton completed a 4-2 win.

Saltash United Thirds proved too strong for St Minver reserves winning 5-1. Tom Bullock and Jake Ahanonu gave them a two nil half time lead. Bullock scored his second after the break with Mitch Hosking and Jordan Taylor taking the lead to five. Matt Webster scored a late consolation for St Minver.

St Columb Major scored an 8-2 win over Bude Town Thirds in Group H of the Shoe Boy League Cup. Conor Doocey and John Middleditch hit a brace apiece for St Columb with Adam Williams, Scott Taylor, Marco Ciarleglio and Dom Roberts getting the hosts other goals.

Richard Brown scored a brace as Delabole United defeated Gunnislake reserves 7-1 to take control of Group E. The other home scorers were Dan Edwards, Ben French with a penalty, Luke King, Jake Merrifield and Dan Mountain. Andy Brown hit the Gunnislake consolation.

St Mawgan reserves were 2-0 winners over Lifton reserves. Rob Fawcett and Craig Allen were the scorers.

Southgate Seniors maintain their fine start beating St Cleer reserves 6-2. Wayne Francome, Jamie Cawte, Lee Robinson, Josh Barron, Anthony Coles and Craig Charnock scored for Southgate with Josh Thomas getting both St Cleer goals.

Kieran Jasper scored four goals as St Dominick reserves thrashed Lostwithiel reserves 7-1. Adam Snowden, Lewis Whittaker and Nick Carpenter completed the home tally.

League Cup - St Dominick Reserves 7 - 1 Lostwithiel Reserves

Not the young, fit Saints side i was expecting to see but their experience served them well and to be honest Lostwithiel never got a look in.

Only two nil at the break but the result was never in doubt. The visitors weren't looking out of place on a football field but seemed to me like they needed some direction and a bit more drive - it didn't really look like they were enjoying it.

The experienced players are doing a wonderful job for us, helping the youngsters along the way. Some of our boys are playing there first full season in men’s football so it’s key to have some experience around them.

Our goal scorers were Kieran Jasper with 4, Nick Carpenter, Adam Snowdon and Lewis Whitaker.

Awful performance from us today, we lack a manager on the sidelines which doesn't help as the gaffer is also our best player, didn't turn up today really disappointed with the performance. Need to get back on the training ground and pick up some results

Gunnislake 3 St Newlyn East 0

Result doesn’t tell full story for the Saints. Keeper off injured after 20 mins & substitute defender took the gloves. 38mins reduced to 10mins after 2 needless yellow cards. The game at that point well balanced but felt we had better of the first half and should have gone in ahead.
Saints were always up against it in the 2nd half but dug in deep and rode our luck a little. An Error by stand in GK gifted them a 1-0 lead but he had done great so not going to a blame a non GK, one of those things. A soft pen and then tired legs flattered a 3-0 score line which the gunni players celebrated like a cup final win which is testament to how well we grafted but score line wasn’t to be.
We look forward to the return match against a physical Gunnislake side. Up the Saints

Goalkeepers taking penalties? What is this boy scout football? How lame!
