Guest meady
I have copy Treasure park match report from another posting. The result 3-2 to Portreath hard fought game with St keverne taking a 2 goal lead into half time playing down the hill, portreath came out second half and gave the home side a few scares. The game changed when portreath had luke healan sent off for a second bookable offence, portreath gained a penalty when jason buckley was brought down in the pen area, which Duane put away (2-1) we then had a little pressure from st keverne and we caught them om the counter and broke away for Duane to equalise (2-2) then both sides tried to go out and win it and it was a break down the left through johns who drove into the area and cooly placed it past there on coming keeper (3-2). The game then went to and fro with st keverne pushing for the equaliser but Portreath and there solid defence coped with all that they through at us. Well done to the st kevern boys gave us a tough game and this time the mining league side came out on top, just showing that there isn't much between the two leagues especially the top four or five from each league. Also well done to Mawnan we look forward to playing you in the final very soon
baggie
Well what a game that was, to be honest the 1st half tit for tat but 1 lack of concentraion & Paul Robinson like moment from A bucks saw St Kev take a first half 2-0 lead. No need to panic, 2-0 dodgy leady, one early goal & we're back in it, we get a pen...lovely, dwaine blasts it straight down the middle,2-1 get in,we're back in in it, more pressure see's dwaine lob the keeper, 2-2. By this time we're winning every 50/50,every header & we're on top, Johns's intercepts a pass & runs 1/2 the pitch.slots it under the keeper to make 2-3...now we're loving it....crowd gone quiet, they're arguing. I have never got this far in the J cup & i'm delighted..... Get in....I'm loving it..... :drink:
Ian Roberts
In answer to the question, when is the Junior Cup Divisional Final? The Cornwall Football Association Programme for 2007/2008 shows one of the finals scheduled for Tuesday 4th March 2008 and the other for Wednesday 5th March 2008. Not sure which game is on which date, or the venue.

Guest sweeper
Portreath footie would like to thank St.Keverne for the spirit the game was played in yesterday. It was a hard fought game as you would expect between two top flight teams in their respective leagues. With the added bonus of the winners going on to the regional final of the junior cup it was always going to be a tough game. St. Keverne were very gracious in defeat with their players and spectators coming up and wishing us all the best in the final. Hospitality back at the pub after the game was also very good - thanks to all :clapper:

We have played them before Reado we are not worried. You best hope Duane Britton stays fit then really!!! Although Duane is a class act, he would the first to say portreath are not a one man team, as we have proved when he has been out with injury we keep winning !!!!
