Sadly that does seem to be the case Dave. I've always noticed that players/clubs down west seem much more involved with the forum. The feedback about the forum that i get as i travel about is -  the dislike of the personal conflicts that seem to have found a platform; the dislike of people not posting under their own names and the same old issues being dragged up time after time.

The Shoe Boy Duchy League Cup - St Cleer Reserves 7 - 0 Roche Reserves

A seriously depleted Roche managed to turn out a bare eleven and fulfil the fixture but were never really in the game conceeding goals regularly throughout.

The good news for the visitors is that the new cup group stage arrangement means that they survive to fight another day. Good looking St Cleer side, plenty of young talent.

I take the thought though that by “football” posts being added we can get rid of those that want to disrupt!

Many thanks as following received from Mike Newcombe (might be a few missing goalscorers that people can help with)

CORNWALL AIRPORT NEWQUAY DUCHY LEAGUE

Premier leaders Gunnislake eventually comfortably came through the Duchy Knock Out Cup group game beating Foxhole reserves 9-1. There was no sign of such a big win at half time as the hosts led by just one goal and found their opponents hard to break down. The second goal opened the floodgates as they strolled to the win. Jarryd Kelly and Liam Bryant hit a hat trick apiece. The hosts other goals came from Jan Humphrey, Bradley Farnham and an own goal with Jamie Robinson netting the visitors consolation.

St Newlyn East edged a tight game with Polperro reserves 2-1, a game ruined by the downpour, which started right on kick off time. Polperro came closest to scoring in a tight first half when they struck the crossbar. Newlyn went ahead a minute into the second half when Callum Faulkner followed up after the keeper parried a shot. They doubled the lead fifteen minutes later when Owen London rounded the keeper for the sixteen-year-old to score his first ever senior goal. Newlyn were slightly the better side in the second period, but they conceded a goal in the 90th minute scored by Anthony Harman.

Ralph Finnimore opened the scoring for Lifton at Pensilva and also scored the final goal of the game, but in between Pensilva hit six. Alex Caers helped himself to a hat trick with Jacob England adding a brace and Liam Donaghy also on target.

Phil Burgoyne hit a hat trick as Stoke Climsland beat Gorran 5-1. New signing Mike Thackeray and Josh Pope added further goals for the hosts with James Walker getting the Gorran consolation.

Boscastle and Lanivet Inn shared twelve goals. The home scorers were James Bosley with a brace, Martin Heal, Sam Haddy, Olly Edwards and substitute Tyler West.

Matt Pascoe scored a brace as Dobwalls reserves won 2-1 away to St Minver reserves.  Sam Gough scored the hosts goal from the penalty spot.

In the Shoe Boy League Cup group stages Week St Mary beat St Columb Major 3-1. Aled Thomas scored a brace with Jake Cartwright hitting the other home goal. Adam Williams scored the visitors reply.

Nanpean rovers won their derby match with St Stephen reserves 4-1. Jordi Willmott scored a brace with Reece Willmott and Jordan Friendship also on target for the hosts. St Stephen replied with a Charlie Stone goal.

Delabole United were 5-1 winners at North Hill. Glen Burrell hit a brace with the other Delabole goals coming from Dan Mountain, Mike Titchin and Davie Tilley. North Hill’s reply came from Ben Davis.

Ian Thomas hit a hat trick as St Cleer reserves beat Roche reserves 7-0. Taylor Johns added a brace with Andy Saunders and Brandon Arnill adding a goal apiece.

Mada Bin Los scored four times as North Petherwin reserves beat St Mawgan reserves 5-3. Adam Daw was the other home scorer with Jon Kappes putting through his own goal for one of the visitors replies.

Bude Town reserves won 6-3 at Biscovey. Matt Waller, Jordan Barnard and Joe Gronwalt were the home scorers. The Bude goals were shared between Adam Smith, Scott Percy, Steve Hackett, Ryan Leverton, Lewis Hopgood and David Hales.

Lostwithiel reserves and Queens Rangers shared the points from a one all draw. Callum Chillingworth was the Lostwithiel scorer.

Grampound beat higher division opponents after a 2-1 success at St Eval Spitfires. Dave Orchard was the home scorer.

St Breward maintained their 100 per cent start in the Premier Division after a hard fought 3-2 win over Tintagel. Optimism is quite high at Brake Parc after the club’s bright start with some promising young players having joined the club. Adam Bennett, Martin Jago and Jamie Henderson scored for St Breward with Harry Page and Martyn Cockcroft replying for Tintagel.

Mike Horne scored the only goal of the game as AFC Bodmin beat St Merryn 1-0 in the only other Premier game played.

Lifton reserves are up to third in Division Two after their 3-0 defeat of Boscastle reserves. Liam Rich, Luke Rich and Chris Prettyjohn were the scorers.

we can but hope.

I think perhaps the simplicity of getting results from Fulltime on your 'phone in the pub after the match is all most players want and, let's be honest, many reports come down to - 'we were robbed' - 'we were great' - 'the referee was a joke'  !!

Results/reports aside, this is quite a significant season what with the major disruption caused by the instigation of the St Piran League and now the CCFA's directive concerning the referees shortage and I would think people would want to air their views and suggestions.

Another great side of the forum is its place for announcements etc - sorry to read about the loss of Peter George today, quite a character.

Could i just offer the league's best wishes to Martin & Nikki Perrin from Mevagissey FC, Martin underwent major surgery this week - get back to it soon Martin.

Week st mary 3-1 St Columb Major

St Columb Major for the first 30 minutes or so could of been about 3-0 up, but for poor finishing wasted chances and got punished in the end. The pitch was in a terrible condition and really was impossible to play football on the deck. I could see why week st mary didn't cut the grass with there long ball game plan lol👀. In the end Week st mary took there chances and came out winners against 10 men.

The big 1 next weekend Grampound away for the mighty reds.

Up the saints!! 🔴

Shoe boy duchy cup 2019/20

St eval spitfires AFC 1
Grampound 1st 2

On a wet and windy day in st eval. The Spitfires took on Grampound in the cup. The Spitfires didn’t get out of the blocks and quickly found themselves 1-0 behind. Soon after Grampound went 2-0 up
HT 2-0

2nd half with the wind behind them st eval managed to pull one back when GK Dave Orchard launched one up field and only to see It bounce over the Grampound keeper and in to the back of the net! With the score at 2-1 the Spitfires threw the kitchen sink at Grampound with Adam Jeffries having his free kick saved well and Ben Hawken having one cleared off the line! FT 2-1

Well played Grampound 2 very well taken goals! Good luck for the season

Home Goal

Lostwithiel Res 1 queen's rangers 1

Really good game at the KGV which could have been won by either side in the end, both sides created good chances but losty will be disappointed we didn't hold out for the win, great goal to get us Infront the Ball looping over the keepers head from a cross, after that queen's had good long range chances but never tested the keeper, their Goal was a free header from a set peice. The rain didn't help and the longer the game went on the worse the conditions became, queen's will definitely be the happier of the two sides after the match. Just a final note food was layed on at the pub and no one from the opposition stayed for food and drink which was disappointing

Can only apologise for the non appearance after the game, we are one of the more sociable teams in that respect. Please apologise to the pub, I forgot to mention to the lads and had to shoot off after the game.

Spot on with the report, thought referee Tony Ford had a decent game in the poor conditions.
