Millbrook 1-0 Dartmouth

Att: 60ish

Went and watched Millbrook tonight. Millbrook had the lion share of the chances, with Ben Applegate scoring in the 4th minute. The Darts really had only one chance, which was a shot direct at the home keeper. It was nice to have a night off for a change as a football secretary.

Helston 2 (Goldsworthy, Cornish)

Falmouth celebrated the installation of up to date lights and I must say there’s a lot of other work going on at Bickland too with fencing appearing!

Unfortunately on the pitch at the moment, the squad is a bit short of players and numerous for this game had to switch positions. Luke Brabyn, normally a delight to watch him running at defences, started at right back. As left back was Olly Walker and the dilemma goes on as in this game Luke Johnson picked up an injury which could mean another player sidelined for a couple weeks.

Johnno started promising too, hitting the bar with a deflected shot and probably thinking he should have done better when trying to go around the Helston keeper. Jason Robertson did well to get a hand on the ball.

A goal in each half from Mark Goldsworthy and Kai Cornish gave the visitors an insurmountable lead - the second the killer just a few minutes after the interval.

Mattie Buchan pulled one back for Falmouth with sufficient time for them to pile on some late pressure, but it didn’t happen. Overall though Falmouth gave the ball away far too much when in possession, not a good idea against a Helston side who are on a run now and you can see the confidence growing.  Billy Tucker was a handful most of the match - and always willing to have a shot at goal (from anywhere almost).

For Falmouth I thought Jack Webber deserves a mention - hard work put in all over the place.

Great attendance too - 364. Liked the band too 😀👍
