The Windmill On The Shirt
Couldn’t sleep so I wrote the report from tonight’s match Torpoint Athletic 2-3 Ivybridge Tn Torpoint lost against a determined Ivybridge side who needed to come from behind to be victorious at The Mill on Tuesday night. The visitors had a good chance on the 18th minute when ex Torpoint player Seb Broomfield had a one on one with home keeper Jason Peters for the keeper to force a good blocking save. Six minutes later, the Ivies took the lead when a low and hard free kick from 20 yards by Sam Ryan. In the latter stages of the first half, the men from The Mill became on top, but could not take their chances. Torpoint levelled in the 51st minute, when Gary Hird was brought down in the area, for Lee Bevan to convert the penalty. On the hour mark, the hosts took the lead, when a Paul Heveran corner, found John Heveran to head home from close range. With twenty minutes left, Ivybridge drew level with a 35 yard bullet from Ryan to get his brace. And when Torpoint we’re down to ten men, as Paul Heveran was sin binned on the 75th minute, the Ivies took the lead through a very unfortunate own goal in off the post. Torpoint throw everything at the visitors in the last ten minutes, but they could not find a way through against an battling Ivybridge side. Torpoint Athletic: J. Peters, P. Heveran, L. Bevan, S. Hill, J. McCreery, J. Heveran, L. Young (A. Costa 76), M. Lucas (L. Kershaw 88), L. Hawkins, L. Raven, G. Hird (D. Hicks 85) Subs not used: None Sin Binned: P. Heveran 73 Yellow Cards: J. leedsunited
Camelford 2-3 Bodmin Town Messiahs Gilbert & Carey tactical Magicians tinkering the system during the game enabling Bodmin to come away with a hard fought victory at Trefew last night, always a hard place to go & nervy finish but Bodmin have a bit of steel about them now which can only bode well in the transition period. Heading to either Helston or St. Blazey this evening to watch a game ...
