Floodlight switch-on at Wendron

The last twelve months in Wendron United Community, Cricket and Football Club has been one that has had plenty of highs and lows.
We have been fortunate to experience Senior Cup Semi-Finals, promotions and have won several accolades for the facilities we offer.
We have continued to grow as a club and community and the opportunities we offer our wider community, from toddlers to pensioners, are some of the finest around.

Our volunteers are some of the most dedicated and hard-working around, as are our brilliant stewards, bar and catering staff.

Over the summer we had the great achievement of now having teams in each of the top three football leagues in the county.

The year was marred with the untimely death of club chairman, Kevin Williamson. Kevin was a real driving force in progressing all aspects of the club, and his final wish was to successfully have floodlights installed at The Underlane, home of Wendron United AFC.

We are delighted to announce that on September 17th 2019, that wish will come true as our brand new floodlights will be switched on for the first time in our first team fixture versus Penzance A.F.C. in the South West Peninsula League.

We would like to extend a warm and welcome invite to all to help us mark this monumental occasion for the club and we would like the thank everyone who has made this possible along the way; whether it be donations to the Kevin Williamson Floodlight Project, finishing grants that he started or anything else.

A huge thank you.

We’d love to see you on the 17th September.
