Ludgvan were approached by a group from Hayle 3rds at the end of last season, who said they had 10-15 players that wanted to come over and play. They also wanted to manage the side themselves so, with family commitments and a few of last season's side stepping up to help the first team, previous manager Tom Hosking stepped aside. Since then it's been an absolute shambles by all accounts; only three or four from Hayle actually signed and there was minimal effort by the new management team to communicate with anyone from last year that might actually want to keep playing. It'd be a great shame if the team folded as I've played for them for a number of seasons, but at the moment that's what it looks like will happen unfortunately. Edit: Just to make it clear that I’m in no way connected with the club (other than being a former player) and this is by no means an official statement, it’s just what I’ve observed personally. Keeper#1
This doesn’t surprise me one bit after what happened at hayle last season. They accuse hayle of just getting rid of the 3rd team, leaving players without a club etc... but trust me there is a bigger picture.
Mr Justice
It’s very difficult to get players now especially if they know you are struggling. It can be a long old season. Might be lads kicking about if not getting games at other clubs but as we know there are a lot of clubs in our area.

Aren't the first team also struggling for Player's?

I think the first team seem to be ok (Obviously all clubs are always looking for more players) but last year The First Team obviously were in dire times but the 2nd team had a really strong team i thought, Said above a few of them are now in 1st team but was just wondering what had happened. The players from hayle 3rds were a good team that finished 4th and got into two semi finals.could of finished higher in the league if the 3rds didnt lose players most weeks to the 2nds to help out (i know this is what is expected from a club so im not blaming the club for this) im just saying the 3rds had real potential to do really well as a team then they found out from someone else outside of the club the team had been folded.its a real shame and a massive blow for the players especially seeing as most of them that want to play are left without a team this season and wont be playing football. I think some players have stayed at Hayle and are giving it a go to play for the new combo team ,

I believe meeting at locations away from the club for away games so the 2nds don’t take any players.... taking 16 to matches when the 2nds had bare 11.. that’s not really helping the 2nds out is it. These are just a few things I’ve heard. The club from my understanding has done what’s best for them, no point having a team that thinks there it’s own club and not been involved with the other two teams, all players from what I hear had the chance to stay but decided the grass was greener elsewhere... which isn’t looking too green now. 53 minutes ago, stevieb said: I think some players have stayed at Hayle and are giving it a go to play for the new combo team , That’s good to hear stevie, by all accounts the 2nds have had a strong start and are looking good for the season. Also the first team too.
