Div 2

Chacewater 4  St.Ives Reserves  1  h/t  0-1

Minute's silence held before kick off in memory of popular former referee Bill Pearce and village stalwart Mark Buckingham, who both passed away yesterday.

Proverbial game of two halves with St.Ives taking a deserved lead in the 13th minute through Beau Stevens.Chacewater had a chance to equalise but Darren Bennetts's penalty failed to find the target.

Second half Chacewater upped the tempo and ran out winners through Josh Caddy (2) and Mark Bell (2).

Hard fought throughout by both teams and the standard a credit to Division Two football.

Tregony 3-Goonhavern 3rds 1. Absolutely delighted with the win, especially after losing 2Tregony players this past week. 2 more were suspended for today. But we dug in and I’d say throughly deserved the win. Martin Woolcock Jake foster  and Kyle dyche with a debut goal and man of the match performance. Superbly reffed, good luck to Goonhavern ,good bunch

Trelawny 1

Penzance Reserves 5-1 Falmouth DC

Crowd of 46 watch a close first half with Penzance going in 2-1 up. Second half they turned the screw and got 3 more. Falmouth keeper made a string of great saves, especially a double in the last minute.

Penzance stay top, but travel to Rosudgeon on Wednesday. Early April, the home side defeated the Magpies 11-0, so it will be a hard test for the new look Penzance.

Troon Reserves 2-4 Rosudgeon Reserves

Both teams depleted and Rosudgeon missing 5/6 for various reasons came from behind twice to win. Rosudgeon were deserved winners in the end and could've and should've been in double figures if the front men could hit the target better. Goals from Sam Wyatt, Shawn Phillips, Jamie Lovelock and Tom Row.

Onto arguably one of our hardest games this season against Penzance, hopefully Rosudgeon should be back to full strength

Also thank you to Cooky for reffing the game, sacrificing playing so that we could all get a game today. Top man!!

Frogpool Res 7 v 2 Wendron 4ths

Wendron went 2.0 ahead but frogpool slowly came back into it and ran out deserved winners . Game spoilt near the end with 3 red cards but very well controlled by the ref (Ollie Knibb) and yes I know I would say that but showed maturity above his 17 years .

No-one has text that result through the system yet so it’s not showing on our website.

Three red cards? What happened?

St keveren 1-5 threemilestone

St Keverne 1, Threemilestone 6.

Saints took the lead after about 25mins with a looping effort from the no8 (billy) a volley from about 25/30 yards that dipped under the crossbar. Great goal or fluke we'll never know!!!

After what had been a scrappy 1st 45, Threemilestone equalised right on the stroke of half-time, Will Harvey setting up Liam Martin.

Once Joel Snape put the stones ahead 10 minutes into the 2nd half with a good header from Will Harvey's cross it was all Tms from then on.

Dave Welfare added another 2 to put the game beyond doubt and then picked up his hat trick from the penalty spot after Justin Pearce was tripped by a defender.

Pearce then scored the 6th late on getting on the end of a cross from Welfare.

Well ref'd by Anita Gittens who had a quiet game.

Att, about 6.

Gwinear 7-1 Falmouth 3rds.

Wasn’t at last weeks game so couldn’t do a report. But being there today was brilliant to see.
Dominated all game. And it showed.
Goals from josh Bevis with a hat trick, Billy Foster with a hat trick and Ash Mellows rounded up the scoring.

Some of the best footy I’ve seen at the gwin and was a pleasure. If it was 9/10  it couldn’t have been argued.

Move on to ludgvan at home Tuesday.

Man of the match Josh Bevis.
**** of the day Jordan Brown, has cramp 😂😂😂

Was a little bit of an odd game. St Ives the better team, by far, first half. Lots of pressure, but only the one shot on target, a looping shot/lob into the top corner, well finished. We (Chacewater) hadn't woken up, which felt weird given we scored within 10 seconds in our previous game. Had some heads down, a fair amount of frustration; we knew we were so much better than we were showing.

No exactly sure what happened when we came out second half, but we were a different team. I think we scored 3 in 10-15 min between maybe 50-65 mins which totally changed the game. Constant unrelenting pressure from then on, excellent work from forward members of the team; defence were solid. They had little to come back with. Some controlled man to man marking in midfield restricted their play makers and I don't think I had to make a single save in the second half.

I reckon that's a good three points.

As an aside. Think we had maybe 50 people watching, a few down from last week.. The support this club has from friends/family is awesome! :D

2 of us from Tms Rappo + my Mrs popped her head over the gate for ten minutes after her visit to Roskillys ice cream shop 🍦. 3 or 4 young lasses for the home side but I don't think they were actually watching the game, just out for a chat 👚👠👜👍

You missed the bit where a Rosudgeon player escaped a red card from the excellent volunteer ref after screaming “f**k off, you’re a f***ing cheat ref!” loud enough for everyone in the ground to hear, at a penalty decision on around 30mins. Rosudgeon definitely outplayed Troon and deserved their win, but who knows what would have happened if they played with only 10 men for over an hour. To his credit the offending player made a point of apologising to the ref at half time, and  I’m sure by the time he’d cooled down he realised he and his team had a lucky escape.

Takes a bigger man to apologise!! We all get frustrated, yes he was bang out of order and even the ref said we all get like that at times. Troon would've had number 8 sent off with a proper ref too, kicked out at 3 players during the game. However other than that a good friendly game I thought
