Good point for Godolphin away at Camelford, always a tricky fixture. Well done G.

Wadebridge going to have a very tough season ahead

By all accounts the G’s played far better than they did against Wadebridge, but Camelford will feel this was two points dropped. The first half saw Camelford completely dominate, the G’s opting for a long ball to a lone striker that was mopped up comfortably and only having one long range shot near half time that was well wide - the Camelford keeper Luke being a spectator. Camelford created numerous chance but were not at the races in front of goal and whilst probably should have been 3 or 4 up the half finished 0-0. Second half started the same with Camelford taking the lead with Ed slotting a cool penalty following a clear foul on Matt.

The Camels then sat back and started to allow the G’s into the game - their long ball / long throw being more effective following some changes (G’s brought on two direct players to support the striker and Camelford had two enforced changes in the back 4). G’s scored with 4 minutes to go of normal time with a great back post finish by an unmarked player (for some reason the ref played 9 minutes of extra time with no injuries and one yellow card).

G’s could have nipped it at the end but the game should have been out of sight.

There were several very close calls for offsides given against Camelford and Camelford should have had a second penalty but that’s football. The ref really wanted to allow a flowing game but the G’s gave away countless shoves and clipping from behind (nothing serious but broke up a lot of good moves) and for some reason the ref called the G’s captain to listen to 4 ‘final warnings’ of players for repeated offences and dissent - but only 1 yellow and no sin bins.

Always great to see Tania and with a bit of tweaking the ‘G’s will be fine this season.

Camelford will need to show the same first half performance against an impressive Mousehole side on Saturday

As a bit of gossip I heard that Glynn Hobbs is now playing for Mount Gould and that Jordan Annear is currently clubless and going to Bodmin to play with his brother until he finds something ‘better’.

Regarding Jordan Annear, looks like the curse of auto correct struck again. Assuming that should be "club less" not "clue less." :D

Ooops - definitely CLUB LESS, (he’s a cracking lad) must stop typing without glasses!!!

Story told was that when he went for trials was told by Lee that he was no longer welcome at Parkway - only gossip.

Know exactly what you mean regarding the glasses. Thought Channel 4 were screening a show called "Selling Houses With Phil SPECTOR" when I read TV guide without putting specs on. Would have been more watchable though...
