Dave Deacon
The County Under 18 Trials begin next week Here’s the details you need to know :- Firstly, this is for all players throughout the county of Cornwall. The team, representing the Cornwall FA, will be playing in The South and West Counties Championship and the FA County Youth Cup. You must be aged between 15 and 18 years, (born between 1st September 2001 and the 31st August 2004). This season initially there are 3 open trials, a squad will then be selected to play in a series of friendly matches in July/August/September (dates to be confirmed) ahead of the new season. All players who attend the trials will be contacted within 48 hours of the final trial to confirm the next steps. For any player who would like to attend the open trial sessions, including those players who were part of the squad in 2018/19 season, all you have to do is complete an online form. With the first trial now this Wednesday, you therefore must send it in as soon as possible to confirm you wish to attend. Any managers or parents who wish to nominate a player can fill out the form as well but please make sure that the player you are nominating is aware and is happy to attend the trials. County Youth manager Glynn Hooper and his coaching team will be running the trials. On the day: please wear full kit, shin pads, boots suitable for a 3G pitch, bring a drink and any relevant medication If you have questions about Representative Football or the trial process please contact Richard Pallot on 01208 262983 or email richard.pallot@cornwallfa.com this includes any players that would like to trial but are unable to make any of the dates Open Trial Dates:- Wednesday 10th July – Hayle Football Club – 7pm – 8:30pm Thursday 18th July - Callywith College - 7pm -8.30pm ONLINE APPLICATION FORM - click here
David Bray
The draw for the 1st and 2nd Rounds of the FA County Youth Cup has been released and the ties involving Cornwall is as follows. Round 1. Closeing date being 1st November. Cornwall v Jersey. Round 2. Closeing date being 8th December. Cornwall or Jersey v Amateur Football Alliance ( London based ). Only 23 Counties have registered to contest this season's competition, whereas last season there were 34 Counties and the previous season to that 38 Counties took part. A sign of the times no doubt.
