Julian.Chenery
St Stephens Borough AFC - 21st Anniversary Reunion Saltash based St Stephens Borough AFC were formed in 1998 as a club playing in the lowest division of the Duchy League with a home pitch at Warfelton, Saltash. They were promoted that year and several more promotions - and relegations - followed before, in 2008, the club celebrated their 10th anniversary with the winning of the Duchy League Premier Division and promotion to the East Cornwall Premier League, Division One. The end of the 2018/19 season - the club's 21st - saw the club firmly established as a East Cornwall League, Premier Division, club and the decision was taken to take the step up to the newly formed St Piran League, West Division. With that move has come a change of name to Saltash Borough in order to reflect the town the club comes from. In order to celebrate and commemorate the 21 years of St Stephens Borough a reunion has been arranged as part of the Celebration of Saltash Sport & Summer Social event being held at the Saltash Social Club on Friday, 12th July 2019, in aid of Huntington's Disease Research. It would be wonderful to see as many current and former Borough players, officials and supporters there on the night. The evening itself promises to be a great evening with rugby players, bowlers, netballers, runners and boxers amongst the sportsmen and winning attending alongside the footballers. The organisers are delighted that Mayor of Saltash Councillor Gloria Challen will be attending as will Town and County Councillor Sheila Lennox-Boyd who has been a big supporter of sport in the town. For those not of a sporty nature then the event is also a summer social so come along and celebrate the arrival of summer. Limelite Events will be providing a top quality disco and there will be karaoke for those who wish to sing. Tickets are priced at only £5 and can be obtained from Julian (e mail email@example.com phone 07450 005410 or Liz 07846 160262 or on the night. Tables can be reserved if required. The evening promises to be a fitting evening to celebrate St Stephens Borough, sports itself, the summer season and all for a good cause.
