Mike Odgers
I see Penwith Exiles F C have folded ,last season it was West Cornwall FC, these are clubs with no identity to a Village ,Town or location -Thinking aloud, where would a football visitor find Premier Six Fc, L.C.Phoenix Fc, Storm Fc, Titans Fc etc. in Cornwall ? are there others? I am not a fan of these made up names but there again where is Arsenal Fc in the atlas. lol

Maybe because the "junior" leagues are more openly known as recreational leagues which to me conveys the wrong impression. Also too many teams per capita in some areas puts a real strain on everyone. Maybe the "officers" forming these new teams need to be vetted more, i.e. coaching badges and previous experience?
peggy78
It's not just the name is it? Storm have been going for over 10 years and it has allowed them to move between camborne and redruth without a name change. I imagine a quick check of clubs that have folded over the last few seasons would show a locational name makes no difference Trispen, Mabe, Chacewater (now back with us), Redruth Athletic, Camborne Atheltic, Camborne Town, Marazion Blues (prior to being Marazionhole) Gulval, Cury... I'm sure there are more

Their official name was Launceston College Phoenix, with it abbreviated to LC Phoenix. according to old newspaper reports. It changed to this when they moved to play at Launceston College when they entered Saturday football with the Duchy League, as their old ground was unsuitable for saturday league matches.
