Our Annual General meeting will be held on Wednesday June 12th at 730pm.

A course for new referees takes place during the day on Saturday June 29 and July 6th. Contact your representative for details.

Dave Gardener tournament fixtures are as follows...

Sunday August 4th finals day, both games at Penzance.

For the very first time since the start of the Dave Gardner tournament in 2005  all four clubs will be competing together in the same league in the coming season.

Lets hope the new (SWPL West Division) doesn't have early league fixtures between the clubs as I can see a few Reserve teams taking place in the Tournament.

Helston v Porthleven looks to be the  Christmas/Easter games.--Falmouth v Wendron /  Penzance v Mousehole?

But will it be the Peninsula Premier League teams or the St Piran League teams from Helston & Falmouth? Sadly over the past few years the teams from every club have been very "diluted" in some games which is a great shame - I guess the current crop of players have very little idea who or what Dave meant to local football and people who knew him.

Would say its unfair to say clubs have been diluting squads, can only remember helston sending their reserves down to penzance to play a few years back but that was due to the first being in a West v East champions game (unsure on what the cups actually called). Not down to the players to select themselves for such games, and along with that, tends to be down to availability... most players try to go away on holiday etc, not all on £25000 a week with no commitments

Perhaps your memory doesn't extend past Helston then lol. Was never a problem back in the day - as I said - a reflection on current attitudes. £25,000 a week? Only Rappo was worth that sort of money...…..

I can confirm Helston Athletic will, subject to on the day player availability, be fielding its strongest squad for each of this seasons Dave Gardener Trophy fixtures. The tournament remains key to the clubs pre-season preparations.

It remains an honour to compete in the annual tournament in Dave's memory, whilst also helping raise funds for a very important cause.
