Dave Deacon Posted May 25, 2019 Report Posted May 25, 2019 The wait I understand is very soon to be over as AFC St Austell are about to announce Lee Hodges and Chris Todd as their new management team for 2019-20!
shots Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Hi Cornish Rhino What makes you say that? Not disagreeing, just asking. Yours in Sport Shots
PzFan Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 If they are going to St Austell, will the club be serious about progressing to the Western League? Can't see Lee and Chris taking the job if not.
leedsunited Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Maybe they are aiming for promotion to the Western League ....
Ian Pethick Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Interesting. Agree with others here, can't see these guys taking this job just to stick around in the Cornish part of the Peninsula League. Most people seem to think that the playing squad at Poltair needs a shake up, can see an influx of young players from the Torbay/South Devon area..

Could see a few ex City players wearing white shirts next season if that's the case then.
Martin Cook Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Perhaps the fact 3 Clubs from Devon have now taken promotion in the last two years they think they are being left behind. With Buckland in there as well and a few clubs in Somerset the The Western League is being dragged into the South West. Can`t wait for next season to start. UTT.
Martin Eddy Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 I thought that promotion will be automatic from this season coming, that is why the leagues have been restructured
leedsunited Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Can't get promoted if you're ground isn't up to the adequate standard

Great question Dave .... Over to John Mead .... 🤓 He knows more than the CCFA !!
Dave Deacon Posted May 26, 2019 Author Report Posted May 26, 2019 I’ve got the answer:- A team with a G Grade would be given to March 31st the following season to reach grade F Basically a club in the FA Vase will have the G grade already Also :- If the promoted club doesn't do the required work by March? Do they get demoted? The answer to this is :- Yes Also, currently Clubs without a G like Dobwalls get 2 years to reach G rather than the normal 1 If they were to win lge in season 1 they could not go up.
Dave Deacon Posted May 26, 2019 Author Report Posted May 26, 2019 Now confirmed by the club ...................https://twitter.com/AFCSTAUSTELL
leedsunited Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 I'd say that is a huge huge statement. Big players will follow, big money, big expectations ...

So, the way I see it, from 2021 a club cannot use the lack of a ground grading to avoid promotion. But they can apply to NOT be promoted on the grounds of “finance, travel or security of tenure”. Question is, who gets to decide if a club has inadequate finances or what is considered to be excessive travelling for that club ?
