Applicant Numbers Update 21st May

Recommended Posts

With Friday's deadline for applications quickly approaching the numbers are currently looking good.  As of midday today 8 firm applications and one further strong expression of interest have been received for the 6 vacancies in the West Division.  For the East Division 10 applications have been received for the 12 vacancies.

Further updates will follow on this thread as the numbers change and a final consolidated list of the divisional make up will be published on Monday 27th once submitted to the FA.  This final list will be be subject to ratification.

Thanks for the update I know the criteria for selection but is there a tiebreaker if it goes down to the last couple of places and all teams are in say category c of the criteria. Will it go on ground or league position or just somebodies choice.

As it we did with the initial list, points per game will be used to sort the pecking order in each of the groups.  Ground grading will only come into the equation should a club be unable to rectify any pick ups within the 2 year concession period.  It most definitely will not be 'somebodies choice'!!

Steve, a bit like the SWPL situation, would you accept all 18 applications you've received and have 2 teams from west play in the east to level up 16/16? Would teams do that or is it apply for a certain division and that's it?

Sounds like common sense. Tavistock, Elburton and Plymstock moved from east to west swpl to make up the numbers.

Currently Steve has 2 in excess of the 16 needed for one division whilst 2 vacancies exist in the other........ Possibly similar to the Torpoint/Millbrook situation in the Premier Division ...........

I'm just guessing but I suppose we will know soon enough......

The process that Richard published Nick is for Combo and TL clubs to feed the West Division and ECPL and Duchy the East.  That's what we're working on at the moment and we're hopeful that sufficient clubs will come forward from the east of the county.  If any of the more easterly based clubs from the west were willing to play in the east is suppose it could be considered but it's not in the plan and it's not what they were sold when given the application process.

Did North Petherwin withdraw their application? If not, it appears they have been shunted to the back of the queue again.

They're no longer in the process Richard.

Thanks Steve, does the maximum 50% reserve team rule still apply? If so, is this a combined number across the East and West divisions or is it per division?

The 50% rule will apply Matt but it will be across the whole League.  This is one of a number of adjustments to the Rules that have been completed today to cater for the change in the structure.

Numbers Update.

As of 7pm today (Wed) there are now 35 applications to join the two divisions, 19 for the West Division and 16 for the East.  Three of those are subject to final confirmation on Friday but everything is looking positive.
