TRELAWNY LEAGUE FINALS - Sunday 5 May 2019

Recommended Posts

Shame that more clubs didn’t offer their pitches then maybe it would of been different !!

Also the fact some teams are unavailable due to closed dates on entry forms at start of season for dates after this weekend !

Plus the availability of referees ....

All factors the critics don’t think about  🥺

A few years ago no other games in Cornwallwere allowed to take place on Easter Monday when the JC & SC were held at the same venue. Whilst still a great day for the teams and their supporters who are participating, the sense of occasion seems to have been lost with the split for the neutral

I agree for the two finalist it used to be the highlight of most junior players life the new regime of county officials do not understand this just because one year it was raining and the pitch got a bit damaged for the senior final. Also the  £60 fee to enter has got to be looked into  being reduced

They changed at at the request of many though after they did a survey!

The Women's Cup final played at Wadebridge recently had a very big crowd on what was an awful night weather-wise.

I think the Junior Cup being played on a Friday under lights would be a better solution, with a Sunday afternoon being a secondary option.

It was played for 3 years on a Friday night !

Last season due to all the problems with the rain and having been postponed a few times the Final was played on a Sunday

No idea why it hasn’t reverted to A Friday night this season !

That was my point. Last season was a nightmare but a Friday,  even at Hayle would be good.

Not a good day for the 2 New Inn Titans teams today with Res losing on penalties and 1st team losing 4-2 .

As a club we had a very good day the 2nds narrowly losing to a team 3 leagues higher...and the firsts gave a good account of themselves against a ruan side who had a abundance of quality which anyone would agree with when looking at today's teamsheet...thanks to the lads at penryn for hosting.. another season dusted be interesting to see what happens with the new shake ups at the league's AGMs

They lost the games but won the drinking by a country mile!

No worries hopefully a decent amount in the kitty 👍

Went down to watch New Inn Titans Reserves today. Not too much quality in the match but an entertaining cup final none the less, had lots of drama. Very disappointing from Mawnan. Couldn’t tell they were 3 leagues above the opposition at all. You would have thought there was a sniper in the crowd the amount the Mawnan players were going down- very embarrassing for the club. But at the end of the day it’s all about  the win in a cup final and Mawnan scraped it on Pens. Hard luck New Inn deserved the win. Officials were poor.

And there is your sniper with a totally unnecessary remark about the officials.

The officials were absolutely fine...dear oh dear, can we ever have a report without a snipe at the boys in black.

They just won the cup. I’m sure the mawnan officials are absolutely fuming with them. The shame they’ve brought to the club

The new inn vs mawnan game was a great game to be part of with it swinging too and through the whole game but there had to be a loser and unfortunately for us it was us this time

nice to score a couple against a well organised side and a shame we couldnt cap a 1st season with a reserve side with a trophy

well done to all at mawnan and hope u had a good night celebrating. What we lacked in a cup we made up with drink with a fair few sore heads this morning.
