St Day 3, Culdrose 1.

A strong Culdrose side forced St Day to dig deep and it was a very entertaining game for the neutral, a bit of a nail-biter for 80 minutes for the home fans.

0 - 1 (12), a cross from the right ending with an unmarked tap-in at the far post. 1 - 1 (19), a 30 yard screamer by Jacob Cleverly. Gavin Boone pulled out a solo goal for 2 - 1 on 53 and then it was nip and tuck with Culdrose often breaking with threatening speed until Luke Johnson made it 3 - 1 on 80 mins with a close range finish from a left wing corner.

On the other pitch Ruan Minor were being presented with their Trelawney 2 medals as the Vogue field buzzed with activity.

Tea £1, barbecued bacon butty £2; and how about this: in the clubroom, on the table with the spoons, milk, sweeteners etc., a basket of free fruit for people, donated by a St Day store, in the cause of encouraging healthy eating. Very innovative.

Very pleasant evening with many familiar friendly faces.

All the talk about illogan bringing in a player from outside the club and what have st day gone and done tonight, these people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones 🤦‍♂️

Perranwell 1(0) Redruth United 3(0)

Loius Matthews. Tom Milburn. Simon James for the reds. About 15 watching

Congratulations Redruth, outplayed and out-fought a poor Well side tonight, hope we turn up for the Supp Cup semi on Sunday, a few odd decisions both ways but no impact on the result.

Evening game lot's of people unavailable. They didn't drop a regular that is the point.

St day have 3 teams and I bet there was a 2nd or 3rd team player watching the game that could of played , not that I actually care just thought I’d put it out there, watching the game st day didn’t really need him out there but with the new league set up next season they might be planting a few seeds for then

3rds were also playing tonight and they were also low on numbers. Don't think the issue was Illogan playing someone who isn't a regular, it was more that they had dropped the very good keeper that got them their. Evening game's every club sign on player's to cover for end of season

Thought when the score 0-0 the Well should have had a penalty for handball as the ref gave a few handballs outside the box for both sides which were no different ! Strange why referees do this !

In the refs defence the player ( Ben ) turned his back on the ball and the ball hit his hand, next season when the law changes it's a penalty this season ref was correct. As he explained to anyone who asked him after the game. As Andy's said we wanted it more on the night and deserved our win

Yes Redruth were better on the night it’s just he gave a couple soft handballs outside the box , and that one may have been also given if not in the area 🤔

That's Babbo 😁

Yesterday's game both teams missing a few regulars, late arrivals, working the usual mid week nonsense, a well contested affair with the only real difference being Jack Adams putting away a Jordan Richards assist, St Ives huffed and puffed had a few goal bound efforts blocked we hit them on the break a few times but no further goals. Well earned break before charity cup and St Dennis 😂

Oh no lizard away Thursday 😱

The league has too many teams in as most teams are playing 2 x a week for a couple of months early and late season , but next year at this time it should all be over as there is going to be a maximum of 16 teams in a league without floodlights, unless your Helston as one away game end of season midweek vs Culdrose .. 9 months of football a year is too much .. not only for the players ..
