Paul Collings Posted April 27, 2019 Report Posted April 27, 2019 The second KMD Developments Duchy Knock Out Cup semi final takes place at Sticker on Tuesday (April 30th) with a 7.00 pm kick off. Premier Division sides Foxhole Stars and Veryan play for a place in the final against St Mawgan (planned for Sunday May 19th at St Dennis) Match officials will be Paul Cackett, Steve Tootle & Tony Ford. Great venue - plenty of on site parking, refreshments, bar, floodlights if required, entry just £2 per adult.
We Two Posted April 29, 2019 Report Posted April 29, 2019 It would be great to see a good turn out to observe how two teams from the junior leagues perform on one of the best playing surfaces available in the area. Both teams are capable of playing entertaining football, so there will be no excuses for a poor game !
No I in team Posted April 29, 2019 Report Posted April 29, 2019 Foxhole are certainly an exciting team but the ball doesn’t usually touch the surface - they should be too strong for veryan, even with their good run of form. Looking forward to watching some junior football now I’ve returned from my sunny break! We Two 1
RoyBoardman Posted April 29, 2019 Report Posted April 29, 2019 Good luck to both teams,I will be behind the bar, come and say hello

No I in team Posted May 1, 2019 Report Posted May 1, 2019 Fantastic semi final last night between two good sides. It has ended up being the two favourites in the final but didn’t Bodmin and veryan put up a fight! Bomdin were seconds away from a lottery shoot out against St Mawgan and foxhole held on to a single (brilliant) goal to beat Veryan. The Game started very fast and it wasn’t long before Griffin used his pace to beat the defender and earn his team a penalty, unfortunately for them Bould missed the resulting spot kick, nevertheless he made up for it with one of the best goals I’ve seen in duchy football this season. Veryan pressed hard and almost got their reward from a corner - rattling the crossbar from a flicked header. Foxhole denfended really well and stopped Veryan from getting one back before half time. The second half was a half short of chances, foxhole creating the better ones and hitting the post. Veryan had half chances but Whetters stopped the flow to most attacks. Then came the talking point, with minutes to go Griffin was given a straight red, from where I was stood he pressured the ball and as the ball was gone he did jump with his feet raised, this always runs the risk of a red card for dangerous play and credit to the linesman (all three officials were brilliant on the day I thought) for sticking with his decision and after speaking to the Ref it was deemed dangerous. With the suspension to be released in 7 days it does mean Griffin is able to feature for foxhole in the junior cup final (this Sunday at hayle), but it looks like his three game suspension will see him out for the rest of the season. Foxhole will feel it’s harsh and so will Griffin but without these officials we wouldn’t have football anywhere. Cracking game and a cracking final coming!
