Despite St Day beating St Ives, the best player on the pitch was St Ives striker Andy Barry, great performance. Head and shoulders above everyone else.

Pity he couldn’t find the back of the net

Congratulations to the Tinners from Gtrsty Rosf. Where I have just watched Forest Green throw away the last chance of automatic promotion with a lunatic suicidal last five minutes which deprived them of a 3:1 lead. It would not have happened if they had Andrew Curnoe between the sticks and at Thursday's meeting,  as the North Stand People's  Convenor I shall bloody well tell them so.

Yes. Ladies Day and a Sponsors Day I have been told.

They do have a good club going on there

Ais. I d'knaw that .'Tis all down to how they St Justets did scat to me 'tween the face and eyes for talking posh in childhood. So then, danged if I didden need to go and develop an alternatively articulated lexical field utilised for the beneficial edification of the cognoscenti of spatial environments beyond the purlieus of Newbridge Hill, pard.

Carharrack 0 Perranwell 11- Different team for Caharrack from the one that came to the Well a couple of weeks ago and not the same heart or fight shown, but they only have two matches left and they'll hopefully make it to next season's Combo. Nothing more to add, match well reffed by Charlie Philpott, apologies that I couldn't make it to the social club after the game.

Hoping Tom Trust can point out where the extra goal came from as I only made it 10.

Tom was right, it was 11

Hope Carharrack will make it down to St Just for the last game of the season. Is it worth me driving down to see that one ?

Yes Issac bring your boots because you’ll probably get a game and if not you’ll definitely be running the line !

Carharrack 0, Perranwell 11.

This season has been utter torture and it is no wonder that so many of the faces around the pitch from the previous few seasons have been absent. I don't know how many clubs country-wide have suffered the knocks that have beset Carharrack since the end of last season but you couldn't make it up. I wontgo to St Just for a midweek game, then Heaven help us they have to face St Day in the last game who need not just the three points but a hatful of goals as well.

I'm not sure the lack of relegation will be a help to them: they need to find a decent manager and about 18 - 20 Combination standard players and I don't see where they will come from - though only being a peripheral figure there might well be things going on that I don't know about. They also need up to a dozen willing souls to beaver away voluntarily behind the scenes, doing all the things that need to be done at a football club as well as to raise money. I know promotion back to the Combo was hard, but perhaps a step back to Trelawney might be wise.

As to this afternoon's misery, events went as follows:

0 - 1 (5) from a corner on the right. 0 - 2 (24) an o.g. 0 - 3 (36) from a move on the right. HT and so far, so not so bad. Then 0 - 4 (52) another o.g., 0 - 5 (54) from a corner on the left. Then a P'well FK hit the post (58), then a P'well FK saved (59), 0 - 6 (63), then Carharrack reach P'well's last third for the first time this half (64). 0 - 7 (66), a through-ball that split the defence, 0 - 8 (70) after advantage was played - would have been a pen, I think, if the foul had been given; Carharrack's 1st attempt on target this half (72), a softie that the 'keeper caught rather than saved, 0 - 9 (76) a cross-shot after a ball came in from the right wing, 0 - 10 (78), an unstoppable direct FK, Carharrack got a cross in from the right wing, safely into the 'keeper's hands (83),  finally 0 - 11 (86), a well-take volley from about 12  yards out. Rout number 94 completed.

Very sympathetically refereed by Charlie Philpott. I know refs don't enjoy games like these.

And yes, tea and a sausage bap £1.50, but I'd happily pay £1 a mug just to see Carharrack score just once more this season.

Perranwell were missing a few players today but the result wasn’t an issue .. I just hope Carharrack can get someone in .. rave reviews from the hungry ones at the game :..
