Where is the sloping field where TMS are hoping to play?

Heard about it on Radio Cornwall.

Somewhere near the school, I'm assuming it's not the old pitch. If not, what's wrong with the old pitch?

I beleive it's down a lane, on the opposite side of the school to the old pitch. Council won't let Tms play on the old pitch, they claim it's a playing field (even though nobody ever plays on it). The word in the village is that they want to sell it to build homes but won't be able to if it's in use. The club have been fighting for years to get back to playing at polstain road.

Good on TMS for fighting to get back home. It's a shame the committee member who spoke to the council leader didn't ask why they can't go back to using the old pitch. Is it Cornwall council or the parish council that's denying the use?

Its the parish council that decided that after about 20 years of playing on that field, that it was classed as a playing field and not a football pitch and that kids shouldn't be denied playing on it for recreational use when an organised game was taking place. Even accused us of threatening some little kids!!!

Truth of the matter is they don't like change and also guard against anything that might cost them any of their (our) money.  After all the years it took myself and many others to get the club to the top of the mining league and later the trelawny league and competing at that level for several years, it was probably their decision that put the club back 10 years. Thankfully the boys have turned things around and the club is on the rise again. With the help of Dulcie Tudor (c.c.member for Kenwyn) we may see Tms football club back in the village. 🤞

I think in all the years I played at Polstain Road I was never on the winning team. I don't understand why for two hours on a Saturday the football team have it and the other 166 hours it's used for other things!
