Gate of 419! Loads of players' wives, mums, sisters, girlfriends all sunbathing on the bank so plenty of distractions when the game got dull! Really, a great atmosphere: the game didn't really live up to it. Too uch tension on the pitch, I think O.g on 33 for 1 - 0 Illogan, very well-worked team goal for 1 - 1 on 54, simple headed winning goal for Illogan from a corner in 87th. Though I thought St Day shaded the 2nd half. Quietly reffed (allowing for today's weird rules). Great banter from the St Day crowd behind Illogan's goal in the 2nd half, the equalizer being met by a chant of "Scoffy would have that, Scoffy would have saved that...na na na nah, na na na nah!" Great improvisation. Loads of faces from around Combo football. Good arrangements by Porthleven even down to the parking. They need to get a decent whole-ground PA for such occasions - like, who scored? Who were the subs? Announce the teams, the winning 50/50 number, that sort of thing. And ball boys would have helped the players - those are wide open spaces around the touchlines! Impeccable pitch, free programme.

As I walked round the perimeter an hour before KO, remembering all the great games I'd seen there for Radio Cornwall and sometimes just out of interest, like around 20 years ago, I hear someone say "there's that bloke on the forum who says about the tea"! Well, the standard £1 a large paper cup from the van in the corner, whose butties smelled loverly! But I'd had a full roast lunch courtesy of my cooking genius of a wife!

I agree the scenery was better than the footy 🤪

Sorry,  thought the team sheets  had to show the 11 starting players  along with shirt numbers  with substitutes  at the bottom.  Must have been  very confusing  for the match officials.  Or is this another ploy to gain an advantage?

Anyone know the winning 50/50 number. Always happy to help a club  but recently trips to Saltash, Godolphin and Tavistock and now today buying raffle tickets but not finding out the winning numbers.

I THINK the winning number was written on a board below where I was sitting, up on the bank. Vidal probably assumed that all 419 of us know where the winning number is always displayed!

I see CTB has the gate as 421 - I was told 419 as I left the ground by a Port official I asked, but I'm happy with 421 as today I met someone who, due to a mild illness, didn't turn up with her contingent of 4 or 5 people until half-time by which time they got in for free!

So I can't help wondering, was this gate a Combo Cup Final record, and if not, when was there a bigger crowd (possibly back in the sixties?). Sorry, but I love a statistic! I'll say again, what a great afternoon it was, a real football memory!

It was a cracking day at port and felt the club dealt  with the massive crowd superb and the pitch looked fantastic .

Was impressed with how illogan set up early doors with the 3 big Center backs and was always dangerous on the counter attack especially down the left wing. Think they deserved there 1nil lead at half time. 2nd half st day started the better side and got back in the game but didn’t really create much more after there goal. Credit to illogan for getting the crucial goal 5 min from time and could of had another but I think 2-1 was a fair score and illogan did edge the game over 90 min.

Great scenes at the final whistle

Sucking up for the Charity Cup final now?

Rosy had a great game, probably hardly noticed he was there for 90% of the game, which is the sign of a great referee!
