Carharrack 1, Lizard 9

Great mugs of tea, 50p, buttered sausage bap £1 - unbeatable!

Which can't be said of the team! Another sad spectacle as the Club struggles to reach the end of the season without having to call off any more games, at great expense which it cannot afford. I know fines will be imposed but as one person said to me today, it seems wrong, when a club is struggling to keep its head above water, to put your foot on its head. Player availability is becoming a problem across the lower divisions and leagues and County FAs need to recognise that punishing clubs will hardly help: the opposite, in fact. Then when I hear (okay, hearsay) that even a club like St Day, with three men's teams, doesn't get a full turn-out for its training night, then if this is true, I despair.

As for the game, a poor Combo side against essentially a poor Junior side (using Olde Terminologye!). The home side obviously weren't used to playing together but all credit to them all for turning out. Players can learn when playing against better sides, but a weekly drubbing spoils your appetite for the game. Ludgvan must know the feeling.

Goals: 0 - 1 (2nd minute), 0 - 2 (6), 0 - 3 (13), 0 - 4 (24), 1 - 4 (27 whoop, whoop!),  half Time, 1 - 5 (48, cracker from outside the box), 1 - 6 (61), 1 - 7 (67), 1 - 8 (73, clever free kick), 1 - 9 (76, nice header from a left wing cross).

Excellently reffed by Kevin Knowles whose positive and cheerful attitude was apparent as he jollied the players along and applied Law 13 with impressive common sense. 10 out of 10 fro me.

Perranwell Tuesday evening, anyone? (Bring yer boots!)

Poor junior side? Lizard had been a good successful junior side for many years and quite rightly now join the Combo League, so its a bit harsh to say they are a poor side. Maybe they just played poorly but I expect any side in the world would like to play poorly and score 9 goals.

With regards to continually penalising Carharrack - thems is the rules which EVERY team signs up to before they start. Cannot be setting precedents out of sympathy sadly.

Oh, dear, le boss, I was referring to Lizard's standing in the league. In the bottom third of the table, they cannot be regarded as a good Combo side; and the score reflects the gap between the Combo and the lower levels of the Trelawney. As for the rules, rules are made by people, they are not handed down from the Mount....

Mullion came away from today's game not sure how they managed to not get anything from the game today. Completely dominated the first half against a gigantic Perranwell side but found themselves 1-0 at half time. A soft penalty and a good header completed the scoring in the second half. Perranwell saw the game out well in the second half but Mullion the much better footballing side on the day. The scoreline not a reflection on the game. But that's football.

Then perhaps you should have worded your comment accordingly. I guess you are intimating that Carharrack are a junior side?

Not sure what game you were watching, guess rose tinted specs must be complimentary for watching at Mullion. Don't recall the Well's keeper having to make a save in the first half, and the boys squandered three or four good chances before James Davies slotted a class finish to make it 1-0. Maybe three corners in five minutes counts as "completely dominated", but didn't see much else. Agree that Mullion played some neat football in spells, but no end product. Even with the strong wind at their backs for the second half they couldn't break the Well down. We lost another two to injuries to add to our growing sick list. The pen was a bit soft tbh and a goal line block by the Well could have been given as one the other way on another day. Another towering header from one of our resident giants (Phil Rees) made it 2-0 and a well taken pen calmly finished by Rappo junior wrapped up the quarter final to make it 3-0. Good performance from Marc Rose in the black kit. Looking forward to see who we draw in the semi.

I agree with the previous comment. Clear handball denied mullion a penalty, and thought Mullion completely dominated the footballing

Can’t he handball when it hits the chest!?

Ball was moving so fast when he threw himself in front of it there was nothing he could do about where it hit him. Arm stayed tight into body, so probably the right call, but as I said earlier, on another day it might have been given. Class block though.

Sorry but I would have thought that was pretty obvious. Their predicament was sealed the minute Harry Pope went to Penryn. I wonder who approached whom?

If certain people didn’t leave the club then maybe Carharrack wouldn’t be where they are now ?

Just like to say on a positive note we ( Redruth) went to Pendeen beginning of the season with 12 bodies and got buried by 12 goals today we are disappointed with a draw.well done to the team off the pitch we are moving in the right direction

With minimal decent games to watch today I took a trip to Clijah and was extremely impressed with Redruths performance. Deserved a win. Although I should have perhaps popped my ear plugs in due to the commentary from the ball boy on the sideline. Hope the player that was injured in the first half makes a full recovery.

The well getting ringers in for a supplementary cup quarter final? 😅 Feel for the squad member that may have missed out on minutes

Ironic that AndyS made such a fuss at the thought of Carharrack bringing in "ringers" from Trelawney 4, but has no complaints when Perranwell bring in peninsula players for a sup cup game.😂😂😂

I think you will find that 6 of the regular first team squad were either injured or unavailable as they  only had 2 subs , one newbie not played in 10 months so unlike some clubs they managed to fulfil the fixture .

The ringer you’re referring to has been signed for us from the start of the season and has been out of the game for 9 months due to injury. Don’t think he’s kicked a ball in the Peninsula league this season so wouldn’t exactly call him a ringer.

To be fair nobody stood out as a ringer in the perranwell side at all. Who were the ringers? Agree it’s a shame if a regular player has missed out on their Saturday football. Hopefully they will get some game time mid week

So they had 13? 🧐 last time I checked that’s more than enough to fulfil a fixture

No ringers, we are down to bare bones with injuries and players away and Rappo signed for us for the season after his pre-season ankle injury, lost two more yesterday so we'll have to see who we can draft in for the Carharrack match, if we play. 😜

No fuss made about ringers Roy, issue was the league applying one rule for one team and not for others that have struggled for players. Also think you might see Rappo Jnr in the blue and black for the rest of the season, but loving the sour grapes!

Benefits of a loyal squad Brendan, unlike some teams, Rappo asked to come on board straight after his injury 9 months ago, now he's on his way back we're more than happy to give him game time.

Is this the same holmans that won the sup cup with Marksy in charge? I’ve noticed a few of his players have followed him down to Ludgvan? Couldn’t of been that bad as a manager? Sour grapes Paul.C? 🧐
