teflon123 Posted April 3, 2019 Report Share Posted April 3, 2019 Watched a rather bizzare game at Callington last night as a 0-5 score line doesn’t quite reflect the balance of play. The first half was dominated by a Callington side that can’t seem to find the back of the net that easily nowadays. They played some good football throughout the half and were certainly the better side but goals win games and Newquay who had two chances scored two goals, the first a belter from 35 yards. The second was purely one way traffic as Callington went completely missing all half and a combination of good finishing and poor goalkeeping (not sure who the GK was but it wasn’t the usual GK) resulted in Newquay running out comfortable winners. Last paying position in the Premier is 4th which collects £300 (first pays £2,000) Right now the teams in the upper part of the table should be chasing position/points for FA Cup eligibility (assuming their ground is up to standard of course). Even losing in the Extra Preliminary Rd of the FA Cap paid £750 this year. Winners of the Extra Prelim Rd got £2,250 and you are then guaranteed another £960 even if you lose the next round.
