The Windmill On The Shirt Posted March 16, 2019 Report Share Posted March 16, 2019 Torpoint Athletic 2-1 Bodmin Town Att: 118 Torpoint Scorers Lewis Young 40, Luke Cloke 57 Bodmin Scorer Danny O’Hagan Torpoint started well in very windy conditions and had the first chance through Luke Cloke on a 12 yard strike just wide. The visitors then had a couple of chances from Sam Ryan in the 14th minute and Tom Moody in the 29th minute. On the 40th minute Lewis Young scored superbly from 20 yards to put the hosts in front to take the lead at half time. Just before the hour Mark, Torpoint doubled the lead when prolific goal scorer Luke Cloke scored when taking the ball well with a great cross in by Josh McCabe to clinically finish. Sub Danny O’Hagan reduced the arrears on the 70th minute when he scored from 20 yards. On the 80th minute a corner in by Bodmin found Glynn Hobbs to head home, but the goal was disallowed for Hobbs fouling the home keeper Jason Peters. oliveoil Posted March 16, 2019 Report Share Posted March 16, 2019 Good to see Sticker get a win today the games I have seen this season they had played well and been punished late and bad ref decisions at 2-1 to Sticker the ref gifted Elburton a penalty for a no contact dive even a Elburton fan level with play said it was a dive so 2-2 and into last 10 mins looked like Stickers curse was to stay but they got a well deserved win and cornwall FA bank balance boosted with all the extra cards given out after the refs poor jugement everyones a winner RoyBoardman and Graham Martin 1 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Martin Cook Posted March 17, 2019 Report Share Posted March 17, 2019 Launceston 1 Exmouth Town 5 What a day , It was like watching a game of in a wind tunnel . Launceston kicking into it ,in the first half should have taken the lead against the run of play when the striker hit the bar. Town took the lead in strange circumstances, when a town striker went down in the box and the ref waived play on ,only to speak to the linesman who hadn`t raised his flag to award a Penalty. Jordan Harris thumped it in ,with the keeper getting a hand to it. Ben Steer got the 2nd about 10 mins later. In the second half early on the big lad at the back for Launceston was sent off for a second yellow . Town played far better against the wind and scored through Ace High 2 and super sub Dan Boare. Launceston did get a consolation goal late on. Considering the conditions it was a hard fought victory and to be fair to Launceston they never gave up. The keeper made a hat full of saves. Off the pitch the Launceston people made the 50ish Supporters who traveled, really welcome. we arrived at 1.15 on the coach,and we also stayed for a few after as well, with them sorting out food for the supporters as well as the players .Launceston is a decent club and we really enjoyed the visit over the boarder. Not sure what happened yesterday, but the club has struggled along all season after the exodus of players. The aim is to stay in senior football , and regroup next season. I wonder how many people on this forum have been managers in this situation. Report - Saturday 16th March Torpoint Athletic 2-1 Bodmin Town SWPL Premier Division With Robbie Morris at The Mill The hosts did the league double over Bodmin Town in very windy conditions at The Mill in front of a healthily crowd of 118 on Saturday afternoon. Torpoint started well in the tenth minute and had the first chance through Luke Cloke with a 12 yard strike just wide and made some more good chances in the first 15 minutes of the match. The visitors then had a couple of chances from Sam Ryan in the 16th minute when he curled the ball just wide from a good cross in and Tom Moody in the 29th minute had a shot on the edge of the area, which home keeper Jason Peters put around the post.. On the 40th minute Lewis Young put the home side in front when he scored superbly from 20 yards when Luke Cloke put him in to give the hosts the slender lead at half time. Just before the hour mark, Torpoint doubled the lead when prolific goal scorer Luke Cloke scored when taking the ball well off his chest and clinically finish with a great cross in by Josh McCabe. Danny O’Hagan came off the bench and reduced the arrears of the visitors on the 70th minute when he scored from 20 yards. On the 80th minute, a corner in by the visitors found Glynn Hobbs to head home from close range which could have been the equaliser. With a lengthy discussion by the linesman and referee after the visiting players surrounding the two officials the goal was eventually disallowed by the linesman for Hobbs impeding on the home keeper Jason Peters to the astonishment of the Bodmin Town players and supporters. Torpoint defended well against the swirling wind and the visitors, even though there was an additional ten minutes of added time to be played. With this victory, Torpoint Athletic go sixth in the league and a double over Bodmin, the first time the Gold and Black Army have done this for many seasons! teflon123 Posted March 18, 2019 Report Share Posted March 18, 2019 Watched a very solid performance from Tavistock with a win that kept the title push going. The first half was all Tavistock and they played some very neat football in appalling conditions that the young Callington Team struggled to cope with for the majority of the 45 minutes. Josh Grant hitting a first half hatrick and at times, he was unplayable. The second half was slightly more balanced half with Callington playing some better football but Tavistock finished the scoring off in 77 minute thanks to Liam Pryne effort. Credit to both teams who always looked to play football in tricky conditions but Tavistock by the far the superior and deserved the 3 points.
