CADBURY HEATH V PARKWAY - MINI REPORT

Recommended Posts

Report taken from Cadbury Heath social media.

The Heath lost at home today (Sat 9th March) 1-4 against a solid Plymouth Parkway side very much still in the title hunt. Parkway started brightly and looked strong coming forward with the gusting wind behind them, they took the lead on 16 minutes from a bullet header by Nick Milton from a corner.

The Heath really picked up shortly after and had a strong 20 minute spell that unfortunately didn't present the goal it deserved. We were holding out for a 0-1 at halftime (with hope that we could kick on in the 2nd half with the wind behind us) but Parkway scored a 2nd in first half injury time through a neat lob by Jordan Annear to go in at half time 2-0 up - a real hammer blow.

The 2nd half got underway with neither side really controlling the game and Heath unable to take advantage of the wind, Parkway extended their lead in the 62nd minute through a goal on the break by Mikey Williams. Heath pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 79th minute with a composed penalty through Simon McElroy that sent the keeper the wrong way after a handball,so the score was 1-3.

Any hopes of a dramatic comeback were dashed immediately as Parkway went straight up the other end from the re-start and killed the game with a goal from Teigan Rosenquest to seal the game, and the points, with a final score of 1-4.

The Heath battled hard but the lead table doesn't lie and Parkway are a strong team that will be very much in the mix for the title at the end of the season. We wish the Parkway players, officials and supporters a safe journey back down the M5 and good luck for the rest of the season.
