Falmouth Town 1 - 2 Ruan Minor

Ruan Minor with a winner in the last 10 seconds of the game, gutting result for Falmouth who fought valiantly all game and deserved more from it. Falmouth went ahead through Curtis Wright firing a great volley past the Ruan keeper from a tight angle. Ruan however were back on terms just before half time a great cross found at the back post. 2nd half was a tight cagey affair, both sides had chances to win. Ruan Minors no. 4 with a quality last ditch challenge on the striker and then the keeper shortly after with a fantastic double save to deny Dan Reeve. Ruans no. 9 powered home the winner with seconds left on the edge of the box which took a deflection past the keeper on the way in. Great clean game good advert for the league, whole squad from Ruan came back to the bar which is of course much appreciated.

prem. ilogan 1 exiles 0.  Could of done with today's opponents not being 2nd place illogan. Starting with a bare 11 as 2 players banned and missing our 2 strikers could of seen a diferent result. Not making excuses ilogan were good for the win. they were the better team and took a 1 0 lead around 65 minutes when the ball fell to there cm in the box who was excellent all game. from then on exiles started to get on top and had 2 penalty shouts and a decent save from there keeper when Steadman was put through. illogan can now match us on points if they win there 3 games in hand. looking forward to next week where we play local rivals mousehole in junior cup. Daryl Richards new signing and squad should be back to full strength.

Division 2

Frogpool & Cusgarne 9-1 New Inn Titans

The best performance of the season without a doubt. The frogs were on it from the start.

 

Sam Bromley picked up a loose ball about twenty yards out in the first few minutes, rifling straight into the bottom corner.

 

Aaron Coveney doubled the lead just moments after by cooly taking the ball around then keeper and slotting home after a through ball from Jordan Phillipps.

 

 

Unbelievably, we found ourselves 4-0 up in 15 minutes. David Leach connected twice from Will Harding set piece deliveries to head home.

 

Adam Coveney won the ball back and played Craig Rothwell down the right. He kept going and slotted home.

 

David Leach followed up on a stunning move down the right, out muscling the centre back and smashing home to make it 6-0 at half time.

 

Leach also got the 7th by smashing home, before he set up Harding for the 8th.

 

Harding set up yet another goal, substitute Alex Prynn smashing into the bottom corner with about 15 to go.

 

Pete Norfolk spoiled the clean sheet in the last five with a scintillating run down the right before finishing at the near post.

 

Man of the match: Aaron Coveney.

 

Referee had an excellent game. Fair play to Titans who never stopped.

adam Keenan and Greg Hobbs for mawnan both assisted by Daniel the milkman knowles from an unfamiliar left wing role. 

Mawnan down to ten men after 15 but luckily for us the normally reliable left winger was like a cheap jigsaw (fell apart in the box). He was also a massive dickhead but that’s football gentlemen. Also a little mention must go to adam Pryor for charging down his Chinese brothers long range strike with his penis. Colin (the father) was heard on the sideline saying “that’s Tom grounded for a week”

2 goals up in the first 5 min and never looked back after that. A good reaction after losing to Penwith last week. Browner was an absolute menace all game but we are going to have to start a ‘just giving’ charity page to pay for any more bookings but his tenacity paid off with a well deserved hat trick. 4-0 down at half time credit to the visitors they never gave up and the game was played in good spirits which was a nice change from some of the encounters we’ve had recently.chuck up for the ref too Gary Stevens...I thought we were getting the legendary England and Everton full back which was a comment lost on 90% of the rest of the changing room but he played some great advantage but was firm but fair when needed so a good afternoon all round.

Threemilestone totally dominated the game, stepped off the gas in the 2nd half but were good value for the win. Goal scorers Joel Snape x3, Tom Wilcock x3, Callum Sidwell & young Jak Davies scoring his 1st goal for the club. It was a great team performance with all 15 Tms players doing their part. Joel Snape impressing up top as well as club stalwart Ian Jay with some sublime touches in & around the Newlyn box. 

 

Stithians reserves 0-8 Threemilestone reserves. 

Another solid performance from the stones & another step towards the league title. Goals from Elliot Baker x2, Chris Shackley x3, Jake Merrifield, Craig Jackson & an OG. 

Special mention to Chris "Gary Goals" Shackley who scored his 54th goal of the season & his 300th all time Trelawney league goal today, despite playing a few seasons in senior football. I beleive he is the 1st player to do this & has averaged well over 1 goal per game.

As I have said on this topic before, Threemilestone nearly folded 2 years ago. The 2nd team did fold & the 1st team didn't win a single game all season. Now the 1st team manager built a great side that look on course to come very close to winning division 1. Liam Patterson has started a reserve side, with a group who all live in the village, are all mates away from football & all drink at the same pub. A couple won the lot in combo with carharrack but came back to the village club, a few others have played senior football too, including Shackley. We have to start somewhere & unfortunately it's the bottom league. Same as Tregony who actually beat us a few weeks ago. The same things were said about Penwith Exiles a few years ago & look at them now. If we could have been put straight into division 2 we would have done so, but that's not how it works.

Illogan 1 penwith exiles 0

Illogan gave Penwith a warm welcome to the jungle, i mean oxland park in a cracking top of the table game

Illogan were the better team for a good hour with penwiths keeper putting in a mom display for his team with numerous saves and when he didnt save it last ditch defending kept it at nil nil, that  was until after a very strong start to the second half simon ellis deservedly broke the deadlock to put illogan 1 up,  after that the game should have been put to bed with ryan halden who had a magnificent game rattled the crossbar  from 25 yards and the follow up was brilliantly saved again by penwiths keeper when a goal looked certain, then adam  callaway raced away , went round the keeper and just when we thought the was rolling it in the net a last ditch tackle blocked it from.going in 

With some chances going begging and a few tired legs maybe creeping in penwith got a foothold for a decent spell and had an excellent penalty appeal turned down and shaun carter made a very good save, but illogan defended well and weathered the pressure and managed to get hold of the ball again in the last 5 mins to see it out and take a deserved win, cracking game and good advert for the league, best wishes to penwith for the  rest of the season as well

Roy D has kind-of summed that up in a nutshell. TMS worthy winners, with all 15 players, rolling regularly on/off, performed well. Good organisation, dominated possession, and a couple of really well taken goals. Newlyn were under par today. Sadly, we could only field 10 players in the first half, with 3 of them having a combined age of 167 years. Do the maths (and not one of them in goal - he is a 16 year old!).

So, 1-7 down at half time, we managed to bring ourselves up to full strength, 11 players for the second half. So, be it TMS took their foot off the gas *cough cough, or 11 v 11 was a bit more difficult for them *winks, losing the second half 0-1 was more pleasing for us at the end of the day. Newlyn had a goal disallowed too.....

Div 3

wendron 4s 1-5 Praze

A first half display of great plays, passes and great finishes saw the canaries go 3-0 up courtesy of ash bingham and Alex Zamaneagra x2.

Coming out for the second half, praze never really got going until the 65/70 minute, just after some sloppy defending left the wendron striker 1v1 with the keeper to pull one back. Alex then grabbed another to make his hat trick and young Tyler Hollow to step up from the penalty spot 5 minutes from the end.  Credit to wendron they never gave up but unfortunately praze outclassed them in 95% of the game..

Praze the people, up the canaries.

Div 4 is a frustrating league to be in.

New teams constantly drop into it that are far too good to be there. Resulting in the ramblings of someone is too good or someone isn't challenging themselves in that league comments. 

They do have to start somewhere and it's not their fault it's league 4. Teams like madron, goonhavern, stithians etc are stalwarts of that division and will never get promoted in the current climate but it's not the fault of the so called big team and players starting at the bottom. It is what it is and it's a credit to the constant 4th division teams that are still going and still playing. 

Just enjoy your football and be happy That you are out there playing

Mariners 4 Mullion 3. A cracking game at nancegollan where i reckon the level of spectators nearly reached 30!!! Full credit to both teams especially mine whom im very proud of.Well done to steve davey on scoring his 1st ever hattrick! also stuart lugg with a good finish,Also big shout out to Neil Stephens who yet again had a outstanding game in the middle let the game flow and spoke and encouraged the players throughout the whole game.

Why have you decided to ignore the 1 comment explaining what's going on at TMS but quote every other comment on the subject? TMS have a great buzz about the club & huge support from the village, due to us all living in the village. We had over 100 fans turn out for a division 4 game vs Chacewater, who are also too good for the league, along with Tregony, Hayle & Lizard. We have to start at the bottom & move through the league's, division 4 has always had teams that are at least a league or 2 better, but you have to work your way up. If every village in Cornwall kept their best players (as they did up until about 20years ago) grass roots football in Cornwall would be far better off &you would find far less teams folding & far less players leaving the game. 

Also I take patchs comments with a pinch of salt, as he is a mawnan man & for about the last 25 years mawnan have had a squad of players who would be average combo players, a few even swl players but have played jnr football in order to win trophies.

I think its crazy that someone who has senior football experience can not make the first team at Threemilestone and has to play DIV 4

Shame on Threemilestone for not giving this guy a chance in the first team........ I would have thought they would want best players in first team

Or maybe he wants the glory in DIV 4

I fear its the latter option and in that case well done on him being the best player in the worst division in Cornish football. 

I really do feel sorry for clubs who stick out Div 4 football whilst many other clubs use this league to 'restart' and bring in quality players to play in their 'reserve' side just to bring some glory to the club when actually their reserve team players should actually be representing their first team....

I think clubs dont always understand first team and reserve team and reserve team is in lower league because its a standard that allows less quality players to play against less quality players....

we only have ourselves to blame at the end of the day...... its the culture we have created that praises players for doing really well at a level they shouldnt be playing at, Imagine Marcus Rashford dropping down to play for Truro City, Sure he would do very well, would we call him a great player or would we call him something else,,,,,,,,,

As I keep saying 😂😂😂 Tms reserves are a newly formed team of best mates from the village. We have 5 or 6 ex senior players who are all around the 30 mark with some slightly older (1 in his 50s). We have come together to play out the remainder of our football as a group. 

Tms reserves have played 18, won 17 lost 1... Tms 1st team have played 15, won 13, drawn 1, lost 1. So they aren't struggling for players. As a club we do swap players around, for instance the reserve team captain & vice both played for the 1st team this weekend just gone. & as it happened the 1st team had a big junior cup game, on a day when the reserves didn't have a game & Shackley wasn't 1 of the players asked to step up. 

Haters will always hate, but as a team tms reserves are going nowhere so I wouldn't worry yourselves moaning about us.

The first team have 2 main strikers in dave welfare (Messi) and Joel Snape and are doing very well in their league both scoring loads and the team is doing well... It would be unfair on them if one had to be dropped to put me in there just because I'm scoring loads. If either of them aren't there or the 1st team is short and I'm asked then I will always step up... But usually the players who are asked to help out the 1sts are players who can play a variety of positions and are very versatile. Goody and Glen Patterson both stepped up last weekend and can play pretty much anywhere on the pitch if you need them to.... I'm just a striker maybe a winger at a push (but I don't track back). I'm no defender so unless a striker is what they need then I'm not gonna be asked to play and the strikers are already doing their job anyway. I knew when I signed for tms I'd get criticism for playing div 4 but I'm enjoying playing and drinking with mates I'm past 30 now so that's what's important to me.... The majority of these 300 goals came in the Trelawny prem and div 1 when I was at Chacewater where i have proved myself. I tried combo but never really found a team i could gem with or suited my game so there's my biggest fault was for not adapting my game or adjusting to a better team to better myself... But I'm not dwelling on it I just want to play and enjoy my football and keep scoring. I'm proud of it all. Regardless of what level I should be, have been, have scored more goals in, or where I'm playing now it's still an achievement that no one else in the Trelawny League has done (obviously I'm aware it's only been the Trelawny League for 8 years) so I'm proud of it and I thank the people and teammates who set me up constantly (should really be on 500 if I put more of them away) and thanks to the people who have congratulated me. Feels nice to be recognised for something I enjoy doing and have fun. People can hate and comment and have their say that's fine I'm not losing any sleep over it. I enjoy playing and nothing will stop that!

2 goals up in the first 5 min and never looked back after that. A good reaction after losing to Penwith last week. Browner was an absolute menace all game but we are going to have to start a ‘just giving’ charity page to pay for any more bookings but his tenacity paid off with a well deserved hat trick. 4-0 down at half time credit to the visitors they never gave up and the game was played in good spirits which was a nice change from some of the encounters we’ve had recently.chuck up for the ref too Gary Stevens...I thought we were getting the legendary England and Everton full back which was a comment lost on 90% of the rest of the changing room but he played some great advantage but was firm but fair when needed so a good afternoon all round.

After doing my weekly scout of what game to go and observe last weekend, I had seen this tasty fixture with both sides battling for the star prize- the Trelawney Prem Title. 

Overall, brilliant game to watch with both sides going for it from the first whistle, a lot of chances throughout the game along with some old school 90's hard tackles on show, especially from the illogan midfielders. 

However, highly disappointed with the way the penwith exiles manager conducted himself. Throughout the game, all myself and my 6 year old son heard was the penwith manager threatening to 'knock out' members of the illogan bench. When taking my young son to experience local football, I do not expect a grown 40 year old man saying "I will F***ing knock you out" on repeat throughout the whole game. 

With his old ragged cap and mannerisms, It reminded me of a scene from the 'football factory'. Overall a good game of football and all 22 players served themselves well. unfortunately the manager is the let down.

This Penwith bunch don't sound the nicest of people, seem to read a lot on here about their behaviour and mannerisms.

Oh dear, extremely worrying to hear the penwith exile manager has been conducting himself in this manner at other fixtures too. We could all argue that he lets the nerves get the better of him? perhaps he is all talk and when taken up on his offers he turns into a big softie🤡 

Hopefully, this situation gets sorted quickly, it turns the local football days out for families and observers into an entirely different experience.

It’s not the manager himself. Justin Millard is exiles manager is getting a lot of stick on here when you have the total wrong person. Iv just spoken to Justin and he doesn’t understand why he is the one getting dragged into it. It’s the same as before there is someone who travels to games and is constantly mistaken for justin. If anyone above genuinely believes it’s the actual manager I can pass you his number and you can speak to him he will explain the situation in full but trust me it’s not Justin Millard

As above, the Penwith players have stated that the person being described above is not the Penwith Manager, Justin. Let's not make accusations about people in certain positions unless you're 100% sure of who you're talking about. I'm sure the actual Penwith manager will be a bit annoyed to see his name/position being dragged through the mud if this wasn't him that you refer to.

Penwith Exiles are a hard hitting, no holding back team. They always have been. You know what you're going to get with them but over recent seasons, they have calmed down massively.

They are at the top of the discipline table unfortunately which is a concern for us as a league to a certain extent however so long as they pay their fines to the FA and serve their bans, it's not really a case of the League getting involved unless the CFA advise us to for whatever reason. 

I would go as far to say Penwith Exiles are one of the best clubs in the league for administration which is important to note.

When we talk about conduct, it is down to the referee to take charge of the game and those in the technical areas. If he/she hears the commotion coming from a bench, then they have the tools to deal with it and I would expect them to do just that.

I personally haven't heard anything on an official level regarding the behaviour of Penwith Exiles.

I would encourage anyone with views or opinions on this sort of thing to contact the league or County as opposed to a football forum, particularly when Exiles get enough grief as it is which is often put down to their past conduct.

I've had my fair share of personal issues with Exiles which spans back to our battles in Division 5 and division 4 a few seasons ago as a player. Since then, I have taken charge of three or four games and the club and it's players have acted to the standard I'd expect. There was one occasion last season after a rather tasty Junior Cup quarter final game where a Penwith representative embarrassed the club with his conduct towards a match official. He was given a lengthy suspension and the football club removed him from position I believe. I'm not sure if this is the person you are referring to, if it is, he's not the manager.

The league have a means of reporting such conduct using Full Time and by emailing the League Secretary.

Can't we all just get along and play nicely on a Saturday?

He also threatened our players, management and also our linesman’s wife who was shocked with his comments. (Which I won’t repeat).

Thank you for that Dave, hopefully this will clear a few things up for the people looking on. 

Maybe Penwith as a club will need to look at this issue with a spectator or assistant?

@GreenTeddy is this also the same chap being discussed at the game you watched at Illogan RBL?

Would be a real shame if this is true.

Does anybody know of the chap pictured above or know of him perhaps? (Is he associated with Penwith?)

Lets not let this however escape the fact of from what I've read results wise that penwith are a team on the up and have lots of potential also. I wish them all the best.

I apologise to the Penwith Exile manager. I can confirm the man with the cap is the man I was discussing about. due to his constant involvement and actions on the touchline, I was under the impression he was the manager of the exiles. Fortunately for the exiles he is not. However, this man has given several amounts of abuse at different clubs to spectators, officials and club players/staff, he is damaging the reputation of the exiles and tarnishing there so far impressive season. he needs to go.
