Lifton res 6-1 St Cleer res

A game that was over at half time. Lifton dominated the 1st half running in to a 5-0 lead with goals from Tom Hancock, Ryan James, Jake Rich, Ben farrer x2. Lifton then let there foot off the gas after hancocks second. They then let St Cleer back in to the game with a neat finish. St Cleer then had a penalty which was well saved by Lifton’s keeper Chris dinnings

Torpoint Athletic 7-3 St Dennis

Torpoint XI: M.Westall, T.Copp, C.Westall(C), D.Rogers, J.White, S.Rosevear, L.Gibbons, B.Robbins, J.Worth, S.White, Z.Rosen

Subs used: F.Benney, T.Rowe, A.Parry, J.Hill, C.Byrne

Scorers: B.Robbins, S.Rosevear(2), Z.Rosen, J.Worth, L.Gibbons, C.Byrne

An awful lot of work put in by the management staff to ensure that the game was on at Horson today. Even with all the work the pitch was still soggy and slippy in areas. The tone was set extremely early in the game when a penalty was given to Torpoint after on 35 seconds, striker Rosen was fed through on goal to be fouled inside the area by the on-rushing keeper. Robbins stepped up to slot away to make it 1-0. Torpoint soon made it 2-0 with a corner header home by Rosen, with the home side smelling blood they started knocking the ball about more comfortably and Rosen again was instrumental in setting up Worth for his first Torpoint goal. The opening exchanges were all in Torpoint's favour however St Dennis soon found themselves more in the game, their hard work quickly gained not 1 but 2 goals. The first with some direct play down their left hand side and the second courtesy of a own goal from J.White after some more impressive play from the visitors captain. Torpoint's 4th goal came after a controversial piece of play, a long ball from left to right was intercepted by the St Dennis centre half, the ball found its way back to their keeper who picked up the ball inside the area. Quickly the free kick was given to Torpoint 10yrds out, some quick thinking from Rosen put in the equally active Rosevear for his first of the game.

Torpoint started the 2nd period keen to extend on their neat offensive work whilst trying to ensure more defensive solidity. Their 5th came of a throw flicked on by Gibbons to Rosevear on the edge of the area to slot home. 5 soon became 6 when Byrne, on for his debut, found Gibbons from the corner to flick home. Torpoint would've been disappointed to concede a 3rd when Coad was put through 1 on 1 with Westall, although the keeper got a hand to the shot he could not prevent it from going in. The scoring was finally completed when Bynre fired home from inside the area. Torpoint did have further opportunities towards the end of the game with the St Dennis keeper forced to make multiple saves.

A strong win for us today, much needed to make it back to back wins in the league. I was extremely impressed by the St Dennis No.7 today, definitely should be playing a higher standard and really showed his quality. I'm sure that the St Dennis first team could utilise him. Always a treat to see Coad take the field, top top player and may have brought back some bad memories for a few today... A special mention to the St Dennis keeper today, 16 years old plying his trade in the Duchy Premier, never easy to take that step up (let alone as a keeper), keep plugging away! A big thank you to Steve Nute for officiating the game today after stepping forward late last night. Always good to see the away team make the effort down the Club after the game. All the best for the season!!

To be fair @davegrose, you've scored 3 against us and Foxhole. You had some real spells yesterday but the opening 15 mins put you on the back foot massively. How come the skipper came off, injury? Was having a good game.

He came off to give another one of the lads a run out,we try to play as many of the people we have available on the day as it's only fair that they get a run out, don't think he was injured he just decided to give our lino a run out.
