Billy Davies
Torpoint 3 Losty 0. On a blustery cold day at Horson Field Point went 1 up after 2 minutes a great header from a long wind assisted throw. Our heads did not bow and we payed really well for the next 40 mins without ever looking like we would score or believing we could score. Point cored their second right on half time when a driven cross struck Josh Cook and ricocheted into the top corner. Second half we had the wind but again never truly looked like getting back into the game and near the end another Point goal finally killed the game. Torpoint played some tidy football and looked solid defensively and will be challenging at the top with several others. We will hope to keep progressing in the cups and need to start picking up some league points to avoid e relegation battle. Great spread back at the Mill and many good people to catch up with especially Rob Brown. On to next week and Meva Away in the Junior Cup.

AJW
Lamerton Community 3-3 Grampound Thanks to our hosts yesterday. Haven't been to Mary Tavy before and Lamerton have got a pitch there with a nice surface. It was a hard fought game with the home side having more possession as expected but having to come back from 3-1 down, getting their equaliser when Grampound had been reduced to 10 men in the last 30 minutes. Thanks also for the food after the game. Good luck for the rest of the season - I think Lamerton are likely to be in the promotion places at the end of the season. L.Gibbons
Torpoint Athletic 3-0 Lostwithiel Torpoint XI: M.Westall, T.Copp, C.Westall(C), D.Rogers, C.Bays, S.Rosevear, L.Gibbons, B.Robbins, J.Worth, S.White, Z.Rosen Subs used: F.Benney, J.Hill Scorers: C.Westall, B.Robbins, J.Hill Our second meeting in a month against a Lostwithiel side that had previously dumped us our of the Junior Cup. It didn't take Torpoint long to get on the score sheet, a long throw had already troubled Lostwithiel early with Gibbons winning the flick on to Westall from a White throw. Soon after Westall didn't waste his opportunity as he headed past Davies in the opponents net. Both teams settled into the game early, attempting to keep the ball down where possible. Torpoint found joy early down their left hand side through Bays and White linking well and with Worth impressing on debut. Torpoint managed to limit the opposition opportunities, through strong defensive work from Westall and Rogers, with M.Westall only being made to make one stop in the opening period. The hosts made in 2 just before the break when a broken down corner worked it way back out to the taker, Robbins. His effort, maybe more of a cross, caught the Lostwithiel defender and took it passed the helpless keeper. With the scoreline at only 2-0, Torpoint expected a strong reaction from the visitors however they were unable to provide their busy No.12 with a opportunity as Westall calmly managed his penalty area. Torpoint striker Rosen found himself twice one on one with Davies with some neat football from Worth, Gibbons and Robbins, Davies did well to stand up to one with the other being put wide. Torpoint continued to push for the 3rd goal and were duly rewarded when youngster Hill scored on his home debut with effectively his first touch and he continued to impress through to the final whistle. Again great to see all the Lostwithiel boys down The Mill after the game and always great to catch up with Billy. An important win for us to stop a bad run of results, with a limit squad through absences throughout the Club and keeps the top 5 as close as ever. I have no doubt that Lostwithiel will upset a few this season, I still cannot believe their No.8 doesn't play at a higher standard. Makes the game look easy as could easily make that step into Senior football.
ChiefBadgers
North Petherwin 3-1 Gerrans st Mawes first league win for the badgers been a long time coming in a game that should have been over after half hour with Petherwin having a number of chances! Half time 2-0 with goals coming from mark Elvidge and Walter Medlicott for the home side we knew Tough tackling GSM would keep battling and kept them selves in it and won a penalty just before the hour 2-1 and the next 20 mins resulted in a very scrappy game on a slippery pitch! Petherwin sealed the game with a counter attack and scoring from joe reeve in the last 10 mins to seal the win! We wish you all the best for the season!
