Tom Trust
Illogan 4, Carharrack 1 Goals were Oliver 1 - 0 (10), Adams 2 - 0 (32), Oliver 3 - 0 (46 - soft pen caused by defender - er - diving in), Oliver 4 - 0 (63), Gregory 4 - 1 (82). Apart from the diving in for the pen, signs that the coaching is getting through as there was a lot of much better individual defensive play. Next thing to work on: give to the ruddy call! Too often players up front were screaming for the ball only to be completely ignored by the man in possession. Wind ruddy cold - needed the half-time soup (a quid). Flattered to be asked full price at the gate. Good chat with the middle of the three generations of Longs to play centre half for Illogan and nice to hear about the new proposals for football in Cornwall and how well they are coming along. Nice to chat to Dave james, haven't seen him for a while.

Andys
St Day 1 - Perranwell 2, probably fair to say that this one had its moments which I'm sure will draw further comment later. First half, St Day started strongly and put the Well under sustained periods of pressure, Lachlan Brave was unlucky not to put the Well ahead from a quick counter attack, seeing his shot cannon back off the post. In the two minutes before half time, the Well went ahead with a well struck drive from Jim Wilsher, which was swiftly followed by a brilliant solo effort from Joe Ibbs-George who dribbled past three St Day defenders before driving an unstoppable shot past their keeper. 2-0 to the Well at the break. The second half again started with St Day pressing and they were quickly rewarded by some neat football from Gavin Boon cutting in from the right and beating the Well's keeper at the far post with a well struck drive. Five minutes later, St Day thought they had scored again but the ball had not crossed the line, being cleared on the post by Tim Senior. As both Redruth and St Agnes know from last season, I have no issue giving goals against us, but this one didn't cross the line, Tim was stood behind the line but was leaning outwards to head the ball and this is probably why people thought it was in. St Day felt they had calls for three penalty shouts that were not given, one for a challenge and two for handball. The handballs were both ball to hand with driven balls striking the arm close in to the body, there was no unnatural movement of the arm towards the ball. On another day the challenge may have been given, although the ball was already out of play. Still more controversy to follow when one of the St Day players was sent off for a second yellow, that can only have been for dissent, which I have to say I felt was harsh, but I didn't hear what was said. With ten men, St Day continued to press but couldn't break down the Well's defence which was once again excellently marshalled by Chris Madeley at centre back. After 6 minutes of extra time the referee brought an end to what was a competitive and entertaining game between two well matched sides.

BAGMAN
Decent game at a very windy Kellaway Park today where Helston overcame Penryn 4-3. Difficult at times to play attractive football in said wind but both sides gave it their best shot with Thirkle from Helston the difference! A decent crowd of almost 100 kept interested by some good football allied with some ‘indifferent’ refereeing decisions which provided some pertinent talking points for the supporters. Man in the middle perhaps not as good as he’d like to think?
TheolderIgetthebetterIwas
Saw this one as well. The wind was the big winner, with Helston adapting better, and a couple of wind assisted crosses carrying the ball over the Penryn defenders to allow Helston to score a couple they probably would not have on another day. Best I've ever seen Jamie play as well. No problem with the referee, thought he did ok, just a bit of handbags, girlie stuff toward the end when Helston tried to play the game out with a lot of time wasting. 10 out of 10 for the Helston No3 for going to ground as if he had been wacked by Mike Tyson, when he had only been pushed....should be on strictly, even Craig Revel would have scored that a 10 On the day, Helston probably just deserved the win. Older players going down , not in our day , show no weakness , just got on with it , miss that part of the game Hayle won 2_0 , at Redruth , Hayle played with the wind , and were two up with a fine worked goal by Kane Williams and a stunning strike from Nick barbs Barber , Redruth first attack on the Hayle goal was in the 20 minute , Comfortable first 40 mins for Hayle until they were reduced to 10 with a straight red ,with the ref Graham Tippet deciding that he had foul and abusive language directed at him after a descion went against Hayle , second half Redruth were tails up and pushing to get back in the game , Caleb made a couple of good saves , and the back four and midfield soaked up lots of pressure , and deserved the clean sheet , also great to see Troy Williams coming on to make his combo debut at 16 years , three Williams brothers in the same team , great to see . Redruth play some good football and won't be down the wrong end of the table playing like that , one final point well done to the Redruth background staff the pitch was looking very good yesterday , was informed that a lot of work preseason was put in well done , you wouldn't think it was a council owned pitch . Tom Blewett
Got to remember yes some of these referees arent the best but without the man in the middle, teams would be like several most weeks who cannot get a referee so games get postponed. Makes you lucky to even have a ref

cornish leg end
Illogan 4-1 carharrack. Thought we carharrack done well yesterday if we had someone who could finish the score could have been alot different 4 good chances not taken yesterday. Thought ref had a great game yesterday apart from the pen no way was it a pen the striker bought it the laughed about it. Results improving for us with a few players to come back. Big game v West Cornwall next week. Illogan as always a great club and set up with a good team. Good bunch of lads and they play footy the right way got the ball down and played good luck for rest of the season.

Martin Eddy
To be fair the council do cut the grass and mark the pitch (incorrectly) put the flags out, but yes we are a proactive club.we could moan and groan or just get on and do it and to be fair we are getting the community on board more as well As a good working relationship with the council. The only downside is that soon all our work will be undone because the council are going to make the whole site safer by digging up all the pitches, covering the mine shafts plus the rest and then relaying the pitches.this will mean our site will all be levelled apart from changing building ( hopefully that will fall down)🤪 only joking. They will start on the top pitches then when they are finished we will move up there and then they will work on the bottom pitches taking 2-3 years once the works start.our fencing and dugouts will be replaced same as or better,so in the long run it should work out better for us but time will tell, hopefully we will have a drainage system put in as well but that depends on budget. Things are still going strong out Lizard, first season at the highest standard the club has ever been isn’t looking bad at all in my opinion!
