SWPL - Friday 26 October 2018

Recommended Posts

Sticker don't have the strongest of teams this season, that goes without saying, but they do turn up for their games and have played an intensive programme with several Duchy league players in their squad.
We didn't attend last nights game but have been told that 4x regular players were out, including 2 playing for the Cornwall youth squad, one of whom was their regular goalkeeper, which if the money boys don't come a hunting, augers well for Stickers future.
Plymouth we're told were clinical in front of goal, and fully deserved their win.
Onwards and upwards to Tuesdays game against Newquay, when if the rumours are correct, a presentation to the club is in order, we await with interest.

If Elburton Villa strikers had had their shooting boots on the Ashes could have been in big trouble in the first half but as it was the Ashes had the best two chances in the half to take the lead.First,Ryan Richards hit the crossbar with a snap shot and then Dave Trott also hit the bar but this was from the penalty spot.

Three minutes into the second half and Villa took the lead with Jed Smale heading in from close range from a well worked corner. One minute later Ryan Richards made it 1-1 but Villa restored their lead from another set piece on sixty minutes when Matt Thackery headed home at the near post.

With just twenty minutes left Lee Phillips popped up to make it 2-2.The Ashes were reduced to ten men when Richard Maddison was sent of but still pushed for a winner and it came on eighty five minutes when in-form Dave Barker scored.
