Richard Chown
I would like to thank you all for your kind words. It has been a very hard time for my family. My dad William Henry Chown helped set up Carharrack AFC back in 1965. Playing in the Junior leagues then later in the Cornwall Combination League. Retired from football he held most positions at the club and could be found most recently working on the pitch or helping on the gate. Billy enjoyed going to away games at the weekends and meeting old friends. He worked most of his life at Compair Holmans in Camborne and later the Royal Cornwall Hospital. An avid reader of the forum he loved Cornish football and was a subscriber to the Cornish Soccer Magazine. His funeral is taking place on Friday 26th Oct 2018 @ 1400. St Day Church (TR16 5JY) followed by a remembrance at Carharrack Social Club afterwards.
Dave James
Attended his funeral today to pay respects to my old teammate Billy at an overflowing St Day Church . A very emotional service and some amazing words from family members who did him and themselves proud at this sad time . This truly hit home what a special loving and caring man he was . RIP Billy
