Div Three = Liskeard 2 - 7 Polperro

Two good teams on show first half, some feisty tackles going in but nothing nasty. Liskeard took the lead after 30 minutes but the visitors had gone 2-1 up by the break.

The second half was a different story as Liskeard fell apart and the goals kept coming for Polperro.

Thanks to Liskeard for supplying a stand in referee for the first half and to Allen Johns for coming out at very short notice to handle the second.

St Newlyn East 3 St Dennis 2

Lewis Dodd x 2, Aaron Thompson (winnner 4mins from time)

SNE didn’t turn up in the 1st half. Dug in the 2nd despite squandering a 2 goal lead. St Dennis had a lot of young players but played very well. For young players they weren’t afraid to leave the boot either and was a good old battle. They’ll be fine this season when they click.

Heard Boscastle beat league leaders Torpoint 2-1 as well.

Competitve league this year!

Boscastle 2-1 Torpoint Athletic

Torpoint XI

M.Westall, T.Copp, D.Rogers, J.White, S.Rosevear, L.Gibbons, S.Trethewey, T.Rowe, C.Bays, A.Parry, W.Ferguson

Torpoint Scorer: A.Parry

Subs used: B.Robbins, F.Benney, T.Booth, A.Richardson, B.West

Torpoint made the long trip to Boscastle hoping to maintain their 100% record. The game opened tentative for both sides, Boscastle soon found the flow with their 2 strikers causing the Torpoint defence problems in behind. They forced Westall into action early. When Torpoint managed to get their foot on the ball they looked dangerous with L.Gibbons & T.Rowe forcing fine stops from the hosts keeper. Some smart football soon found it's way to S.Trethewey within the area, the Boscastle defender was adjudged to foul the midfielder as it attempted to beat him. Trethewey was given the honours from the spot but again the keeper made a fine save only to see the rebound hammered home by Parry for his 5th of the season. Almost immediately from the restart Boscastle again asserted their dominance. Another long ball wasn't dealt with and the striker cooly put the ball into the back of the net.

Entering the second half Torpoint looked as though they were finally finding their feet but without any clear cut opportunities. The hosts soon found the lead with a sweetly struck shot from outside the area. Not content to sit back they continued to push the game, forcing further saves from the impressive Westall. Torpoint made mass substitutions to try and change the game. The highlight of their second half game from a plethora of chances within the box with 2 blocked on the line and the keeper again making a superb stop. Torpoint's frustrations could be seen as they were fighting to at least take a point from the game.

All in all I believe Boscastle were deserved winners & this should give them a little more faith for the rest of the season. Not good enough from us today and it's a hard defeat to take, as are all. MotM for me today was the Boscastle No.10, didn't stop all game and caused so many issues over the park. The groundsman at Boscastle has done some job with their pitch, lovely surface to play on and the work the Club has put in off the pitch is a sight to be seen. See you at The Mill later in the season!

Thought a draw wud of been a deserved result tbh both teams tried to play football n for once there was hardly any moans at the ref,we have a relatively young team this season n it's good to c how much effort they put in every week. Our 1st league win isn't far away just need a bit of luck lol good luck for ur season s n e

Southgate Seniors 2-1 St Stephen Reserves

The day started pretty badly for St Stephen when we turned up at 13:30, only to be told that there was kids football being played right before hand and they were using the only set of changing rooms.

2pm - Southgate asked if we could move the kids bags/clothes to one side and get changed in there. (Of course we said no, for a HUGE number of reasons)

2:10 - Still not in the changing rooms.

2:15 - Southgate offer for us to get changed in their changing room showers. (Of course we had little choice with kick off 15 mins away.)

2:30 - Managed to kit up and eventually move our bags to our own, then empty, changing rooms. Then the long walk to the pitch took place.

The game started very badly for us (unsure why we didn't really get going from the whistle *eye roll*), We conceded very early on with a mistake from the St Stephen 'keeper who still hadn't really touched a football all day.
Shortly after Southgate were pressing high, looking very warm and up for it, managed to grab a 2nd. 2-0 down within 20 minutes.
St Stephen made an early sub after conceding their 2nd and it changed the balance of the game and a bit of mid-game stretching we felt a bit more up for it and grab our goal just before half time after the Southgate 'keeper failed to gather a James Allen free kick and Aiden LeMasurier was following up for a tap-in.
2nd half both teams creating chances and both having good spells of their own but both failed to score.

The game finished 2-1 to the hosts, slight moan over.

A few questions.... How can anyone expect a visiting team to wait around for 45 mins outside, before being offered any sort of realistic place to get kitted up?
In hindsight we should of arrived in full kit. (Like you did when you we're a young child arriving at games.)
Are there any rules on this? Or can anyone act that way?
Should kick off be delayed in these circumstances?
I know its hardly Southgates fault that kids were playing before hand but there was a serious lack of communication between the kids football and themselves it seems.

Get changed outdoors and lock bags in cars. Like the good old days! ?
