He has obviously got some links in Bodmin - Newquay - St Blazey and St Austell so it’s got to be a player or coach. Either way - I can confirm it’s certainly not me! Now, I always give fair assessments from games I have witnessed whoever that might be. I think the biggest problem is that I usually speak as I find, & some managers/players/supporters don't particularly like it (especially if it involves their club) & then they go all defensive & hide their downfalls by deflecting the blame/criticism from their doors ... ? No at present Bodmin are not as strong as in previous seasons, but we are in a transitional period & it's just about staying in there with the leading pack, as it's a very long season. As far as the league not being as Strong as in previous seasons, completely agree. Imagine the St.Blazey's under Trevor, or Falmouth's under Dave Ball, or the Bodmin side of 3 seasons ago in this current league, it would be wrapped up by Christmas. In addition a number of local lads have decided to try it at higher levels (Nick Hurst, Harry Evans, Landricombe brothers, Shane White etc). All of these players would be (or have been) in the league. So when you take about 25 top players out for various reasons - no wonder the standard has been diluted. SWL Veteran Posted September 1, 2018 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2018 I think that Bodmin are not liked for a number of reasons in the following order- 1 - previous success (a degree of jealously with some people) 2 - management’s abrasive manner (can be rude and disrespectful to all members involved eg supporters - referee) 3 - committee’s / club members - hostile reception ( never a smile on arrival) shame it’s not like a club like Wadebridge - ran in a polite friendly fashion Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
